The panic disorder with a lifetime prevalence of estimated 3.5% is an important psychiatric disorder of common comorbidity and long term course. The adequate diagnosis is rare, the common therapeutic strategies are not sufficient. Besides behaviour therapy the therapy with SSRIs provides a 60% remission within a few weeks for an uncomplicated panic disorder.
