Mucocele of the appendix is uncommon, and preoperative diagnosis is rare. This case report presents the clinical, ultrasound and computed tomographic imaging findings mimicking those of an ovarian cyst. Appendectomy resulted in no complications.
The desmoid tumor of the breast with infiltrative and destructive growth tendencies is a rare benign lesion. Fibromatosis management favors wide local excision with clear margins, adjuvant hormonal- and radiotherapy can improve recurrence-free survival rate. We report on a patient with desmoid tumor of the breast.
A heterotopic, synchronous, combined, simultaneous pregnancy is characterized by the appearance of an intra- and extrauterine pregnancy at one time. The correct and early diagnosis is difficult and rare. We report on a simultaneous intra- and extrauterine pregnancy after hormonal stimulation followed by homologous artificial insemination.
A case of a 32 year-old woman with a allergic reaction of latex gloves is described. Due to the obviously increasing number of latex-related allergies, especially in atopic persons and patients with frequent latex exposure, the exact history is highly significant. If a latex-related allergy is suspected, all latex-or rubber-containing materials have to be consequently avoided. The diagnosis of latex allergy should be verified by testing and Latex-RAST.
The desmoplastic small cell tumor with divergent differentiation is a malignant tumor with a complex phenotype. Its correct classification remains difficult. The histologic pattern shows tumor cell nests surrounded by a cellular desmoplastic stroma. The immunohistochemical response to epithelial and muscle markers is positive. Neural differentiation and association with cytogenetic abnormality are observed. This tumor probably belongs to the family of primitive small round cell tumors that predominantly occur during childhood.
Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a rather rare disease manifested by layers of mucinous and gelatinous material deposited upon peritoneum, intestinum, and omentum majus. Surgical therapy proved to be the best treatment with many patients requiring multiple laparotomies. Either chemo- or immuno-therapy may be an adjuvant treatment for individual patients. Long-term nutritional support given in the late stages of disease provides a better quality of life during this period.

Gynaecological care is considered a necessary component in the rehabilitative management of paraplegic women, giving rise to a range of issues involving the quality of life of paraplegic patients. Partnership, marital problems, as well as sexual coping certainly play an essential role in this respect.
A 38-years-old woman is presented with recurrent postoperative bleedings. The coagulation analysis revealed a factor XIII deficiency. The treatment consisted in transfusions of factor XIII concentrates.
