[Lung involvement in patients with secondary immunodeficiency states].

The period of last years was marked by an increasing number of patients with secondary immunodeficiencies who have also got a diagnosis of various lung pathology (bacterial pneumonia is more frequent, however protozoan, fungal, viral, tuberculous and malignant affections of lungs also are not unusual). Diagnostics and treatment of such affections require a considerable improvement. These were the goals of clinic data analysis and pathologicoanatomic studies. The article gives the systematization of lung affections and stresses the peculiarities in diagnostics and treatment of patients with lung affections on the background of secondary immunodeficiencies.

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome↗

[Complexities in the diagnosis of Pneumocystis pneumonia].

The authors provide clinical evidence for difficulties encountered in the diagnosis of pneumocystis pneumonia. Show the role of the methods such as examination of the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and serological blood testing aimed at detection of the liter of antibodies to Pneumocystis carinii.

[Immunoglobulin and lysozyme levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid from patients with acute pneumonia in acute leukemia and bronchogenic carcinoma of the lung].

The study of immunoglobulins and lysozyme in acute pneumonia patients suffering from acute leukemia and bronchogenic cancer of the lungs elicited impairment of local specific and nonspecific body defences. This fact should be taken into consideration when planning immunotherapy in combined treatment of relevant patients.

Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid↗

[Variants of pneumonia-like pulmonary lesions in ornithosis].

The paper presents clinical examples evidencing complicated diagnosis and course characteristics for the pulmonary variant of ornithosis infection. There is a table of the leading diagnostic signs promoting more rapid and precise determination of the ornithosis origin of the pulmonary inflammation.

Acute Disease↗

[Features of the diagnosis and treatment of paracancerous pneumonia in bronchogenic pulmonary carcinoma].

Based on the clinical observations and post mortem examinations the data are provided on the development, diagnosis and treatment of secondary pneumonias in bronchogenic pulmonary carcinoma. The authors describe the local immunological disorders in patients suffering from pneumonia: the morphologic changes, alterations in the content of lysozyme and protein, acid phosphatase activity, and in the NBT-test for neutrophils of the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. Demonstrate the clinical efficacy of endobronchial administration of the incubated leukocyte and platelet mass stimulated with tactivin.

Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid↗

[Chronic asthmatic bronchitis].

The main pathogenetic mechanisms and morphological picture of chronic asthmatic bronchitis are similar to those of bronchial asthma. The only difference is the absence of regular fits of asphyxia. Diagnosis of this disease is based upon the detection of the broncho-obstructive syndrome and verification of its allergic origin. Therapy of chronic asthmatic bronchitis is based on the same principles as that of bronchial asthma.

[Characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of secondary pneumonia in acute leukemia].

The authors presented the results of clinical observations and autopsy findings concerning the peculiarities of the development, diagnosis and treatment of secondary pneumonia in acute leukemia with pulmonary complications. Immunological disorders in patients with pneumonia in acute leukemia (general-changes in the levels of lysozyme, complement, immunoglobulins, T-lymphocytes, lymphocyte blast-transformation reaction; local-morphological changes, changes in the content of lysozyme, acid phosphatase activity, bronchoalveolar wash-off) were shown. A study of bronchoalveolar washes-off showed a clinical efficacy of a method of endobronchial injection of leukocytic mass for pneumonia in acute leukemia.
