[Dopamine antibodies in parkinsonism patients and their possible role in the pathogenesis of the parkinsonian syndrome].

Dopamine antibodies (DAb) were found in the blood serum of parkinsonian patients, middle-aged and elderly, but not young. There was a correlation between the DAb incidence and dominant symptom in the middle-aged and elderly patients and between DAb and anginal parkinsonism in the elderly patients. DAb-binding serum gamma-globulins of parkinsonian patients injected into rat caudate nuclei induced the pathogenetic mechanism of Parkinson's syndrome (the generator of pathologically enhanced excitation-GPEE) in this brain part and evoked main parkinsonian symptoms (oligokinesia, rigidity and tremor). This effect was more expressed in the elderly rats compared with the young animals. The DAb role in the Parkinson's syndrome pathogenesis and in L-DOPA therapeutic tolerance formation is discussed.

[Antibodies to neuromediators in allergic diseases (pollinosis)].

Sera from 33 pollinosis patients aged 16-33 have been examined for autoantibodies to neuromediators serotonin and catecholamine, serum samples from 21 healthy subjects served controls. Antibodies to dopamine and norepinephrine (43.0 +/- 4.0, 35.0 +/- 0.0 rel. units) have been detected in 81.8% and 69.7% of the pollinosis patients, respectively. Serotonin antibodies (54.6 +/- 6.0 rel. units) occurred in the patients 3.8 times more frequently than in healthy subjects. Antibodies to neuromediators in quantities within 12.0 rel. units were recorded in 9.5-38.0% of the controls. It is suggested that induction of neuromediator antibodies synthesis may represent a compensatory mechanism of neuromediator metabolism control in pollinosis.

[Induction of autoantibodies to serotonin and catecholamines in chronically morphine addicted rats with manifestations of abstinence syndrome].

The possibility of formation of autoantibodies to neurotransmitters has been studied in experimental model of opiate addiction. Chronic treatment of rats with morphine that leads to formation of dependence, causes induction of antibodies to norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. The latter could be considered as indicators of impaired neurotransmitter metabolism. Induction of autoantibodies to neurotransmitters could be a sort of defence mechanism in opiate addiction.

[The effect of catecholamine and serotonin antibodies on pain sensitivity and the development of morphine tolerance in experimental drug addiction].

The effect of antibodies to catecholamine and serotonin on the thermal pain sensitivity and tolerance to morphine was studied in rats immunized by protein-conjugated neurotransmitters before chronic drug intoxication. The antibodies to catecholamine have been found to affect bifunctionally on the nociception bifunctionally: either accelerating or delaying the pain reaction to thermal irritation. The antibodies to serotonin were ineffective as modulators both of the pain sensitivity and tolerance to morphine development. In contrast, the antibodies to catecholamine suppressed the expression of tolerance to chronic morphine. Serotonin antibodies virtually produced no effects on pain sensitivity and the development of morphine tolerance.

[Dopamine antibodies in the pathogenesis of parkinsonism].

L-DOPA and dopamine (DA) binding antibodies were found in the blood serum of Parkinsonian patients and middle-aged and elderly normal persons. DA-binding serum gamma-globulins of parkinsonian patients injected into rat caudate nuclei induced the pathogenetic mechanism of Parkinson's syndrome (generator of pathologically enhanced excitation) in these brain part and evoked main parkinsonian symptoms (oligokinesia, rigidity, tremor). The serum gamma-globulins of Parkinsonian patients without Da-antibodies caused less pronounced EEG disturbances. Parkinsonian symptoms developed rarely and were shorter and less pronounced compared with the DA-antibody effect. The DA binding antibodies role in Parkinson's syndrome pathogenesis and is L-DOPA therapeutic tolerance formation was discussed.

[Effects of passive administration of serotonin and catecholamine antibodies on alcohol consumption of C57Bl/6 mice in experimental alcoholism].

The experiments on C57Bl/6 mice with natural ethanol motivation have shown that passive injection of anti-noradrenaline and particularly antiserotonin antibodies reduces several times alcohol consumption by animals. On the contrary the injection of anti-dopamine antibodies to affect voluntary alcohol consumption by mice have been found.
