Transcatheter embolization of multiple pulmonary artery aneurysms in Behçet's syndrome. Report of a case.

Transcatheter embolization of a pulmonary artery aneurysm in Behçet's disease has rarely been attempted. A report is presented of a case with four pulmonary aneurysms and massive hemoptysis. Transcatheter embolization was successfully performed in three of these aneurysms, with clinical improvement during a follow-up period of 11 months. Technical problems, hazards, and indications for embolization in these patients are discussed.

[Rheumatic spondylodiscitis in spondylarthropathies].

The involvement of enthesis like disc space is the typical lesion of spondylarthropathies. Out of 240 patients with spondylarthropathies, 10 (7 M, 3 W; mean age: 37 years) have spondylodiscitis, affecting a total of 13 disc spaces: 1 cervical, 2 thoracic, 10 lumbar. The mean duration of spondylarthropathy at the time of diagnosis of spondylodiscitis is 10 years. Spondylodiscitis has a variable clinical presentation: painful (6 cases), asymptomatic (4 cases). Its coexistence with typical radiographic signs of spondylarthropathy added to the exclusion of bacterial origin, permit to link it to spondylarthropathy. Its evolution is generally favourable.

[Osteoarticular amyloidosis in hemodialyzed patients. Report of 4 cases].

Chronic hemodialysis is sometimes complicated by an osteoarticular amyloidosis, which happens after a middle delay of ten years, it can be expressed by a tunnel carpal syndrome, a shoulder pariarthritis, bony cysts, and erosive spondylarthropathy. The authors reported their experience about four cases, and insisted on some évocatoring radiologic aspects.

[Tuberculous spondylitis with syndesmophytes and paraspinal ossification. Two case reports].

The authors described 2 patients with spinal tuberculosis. The first one was presented with multiple anterior marginal involvement of vertebral bodies, centrosomatic spondylitis of L3, associated with a syndesmophytic showing spinal ossification. In the second case, spinal tuberculosis involved the vertebral arc of L2 and L4. A paravertebral ossification on both sides of L4 was seen. The nature of these vertebral and paravertebral ossifications was discussed.

[Arterial thrombosis in Behcet's disease. Report on three cases].

Three patients with Behcet's disease developed arterial thromboses affecting the external iliac, middle superficial femoral, and radial arteries respectively. Arterial thrombosis occurs mainly in affected males, is predominant in the upper limbs, and usually appears several years after the onset of the disease: it is probably more frequent in the familial forms.

[Superior caval syndrome caused by chronic mediastinitis in Behçet's disease].

We report a case of Behçet disease complicated by superior vena cava syndrome secondary to extrinsic compression by mediastinal fibrosis. This association is not reported in literature. The habituel etiology of vena cava syndrome in Behçet disease is venous thrombosis. Radiological investigations of this syndrome are necessary to avoid an useless anticoagulant therapy.
