[Dermatologic facial surgery in patients over 70 years of age. Apropos of 166 cases surgically treated in 1986 and 1987].
For patients pass the age of seventy, the facial dermatologic surgery can be often practised, under local anesthesia, during an hospitalisation of one day (111 cases under 121). The technic of repair in two times is systematically applied for the sclerosing basal cell carcinoma; this technic allows a best performance of excision and diminishes the risk of recurrence.

Prognostic value of Langerhans cells in the epidermis of HIV patients.
We measured the number of Langerhans cells in clinically normal epidermis and the number of T4 lymphocytes in the plasma in 24 patients infected with HIV, and related these to the stage of the disease. A correlation is demonstrated between the numbers of Langerhans cells and T4 lymphocytes. Numbers of Langerhans cells were lower in patients with disease stages III and IV than in those with disease stage II. Thus Langerhans cell numbers could be of prognostic value in this disease.

Immunohistological study of captopril-induced late cutaneous eruptions.
Immunohistological study of dermal infiltrate from two pemphigus- and one captopril-induced lichenoid eruption showed the presence of a CD8 (T suppressor) infiltrate that resembled that found in skin eruptions induced by graft-versus-host disease. It is suggested that a T cell cytotoxic reaction occurs in the epidermis that might be triggered by captopril-induced modification of keratinocytic antigens.

Keratinocyte T6 antigen expression after PUVA therapy.
We report T6 antigen expression on keratinocytes in 11 cutaneous T lymphomas treated by PUVA therapy. This staining was absent before treatment. T6 reactivity was strictly limited to cell membrane. The nature of this expression is discussed, and it is suggested that it could be attributed to a passive diffusion from Langerhans's cells.

The benefit of chilling in argon-laser treatment of port-wine stains.
The authors compare results obtained in argon laser treatment of port-wine stains with and without preliminary chilling, noting that the success rate is considerably greater with the former procedure (68.6 percent) than with the latter (37.5 percent) (X2 = 4.37 p less than 0.05). The effect of chilling has been studied with special reference to the vitropressure test. Different hypotheses are presented to account for the difference and possible complications of the treatment are considered.
