Interposition of the gall bladder: a rare congenital malformation of the extrahepatic bile ducts.

A rare congenital malformation of the extrahepatic bile duct is presented: in an elderly female patient the cystic duct was missing and intra-operative cholangiography revealed a gall bladder wedged between the common duct and the hepatic duct. The situation was solved by syphonoplasty and T-tube drainage. Five similar cases have only been published in the literature. The importance of intra-operative radiomanometry during of the bile duct is stressed.

An experimental model of tryptic haemorrhagic enteropathy of the dog.

To study the enteropathy characteristics of the shock state of the dog a simple experimental model has been developed. The cranial mesenteric artery was perfused with 2 micrograms/kg/min norepinephrine for an hour via a diagnostic cardiac catheter inserted under fluoroscopic control. This caused a "pharmacological occlusion" of the artery by local alpha receptor stimulation, and tryptic haemorrhagic enteritis was produced without hypovolaemia or assay operative procedure.

Herniation of the heart after intrapericardial pneumonectomy.

Acute cardiac herniation after a radical rightsided pneumonectomy occurred in a 69-year-old man. Approximately 40 cases from the literature are discussed. Early recognition and emergency treatment are essential for patient survival of what showed to be a preventable complication of lung resection.

[The effect of severity and duration of hemorrhagic hypotension and the narcosis on the plasma levels of lysosomal enzymes in dogs (author's transl)].

The effect of degree and duration of hemorrhagic hypotension on the lysosomal enzyme and LAP levels of plasma of the anaesthesied or wakeful dog has been examined. We ascertained that in a state of hypovolaemia a reduction by 10 mm Hg of the blood pressure resulting significantly increased enzyme activity during the same time. A similar change was caused by prolonging the time. In the anaesthesised group there was the enzyme activity after 120 min of haemorrhagic hypotension lower.
