The authors report the case of a 52 year old man with arteriovenous shunt developing from the 7th left intercostal artery, revealed by hemoptysis and proved by intercostal selective arteriography. The patient had a past history of serofibrinous pleurity 29 years previously and had undergone paracentesis at this level. The origin of this shunt is then discussed.

In two patients with laryngeal von Recklinghausen disease, CT demonstrated hypodense, well-defined, septated masses sparing the epiglottis, and with little enhancement after contrast medium injection. Additional cervical lesions, benign or occasionally malignant, may also be seen.

Angiomyolipoma is a well-known rare soft tissue tumor involving the kidneys, liver and other organs. Long believed to be a benign hamartoma, angiomyolipoma is now considered a neoplasm that arises from perivascular epithelioid cell. Epithelioid angiomyolipoma is a rare variant of angiomyolipoma characterized by epithelioid cells that mimic renal cell carcinoma and is potentially malignant. Immunoreactivity with HMB45 is helpful for its identification. We report the computed tomographic and histologic findings in a 36 years old woman with epithelioid angiomyolipoma and lymph node involvement.

The authors studied standard thoracic radiographs (PA and lateral) and esophageal X ray examination with barium in 116 patients with a squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus. Diagnosis of lymph node involvement was done in 21 cases. Is was only probable in 33 other cases. In 43 cases, lymph node are located near the primary tumor but in 11 cases, they are located at a certain distance from the primary lesion. These X ray, simple findings, seem to be very important for the radiotherapeutic treatment planning.
