Forty-seven dogs or seventy-four kidneys, respectively, were used in studies into the activity of metrizamide (Amipaque). The angiograms were of good quality; as compared with contrast media tested before, the incidence of abnormalities was somewhat lower, and the symptoms (spasm, inhomogeneous nephrogram) were less important. Histological examination showed that plenty of homogeneous pink proteinlike substance had accumulated in many tubules as well as in the lumen of the Bowman's capsules; fibroses were seen in several parts after 7 and 28 days, respectively. However, the evaluation of the renal function showed no considerable changes in the laboratory values.
Follow-up studies were carried out in asthmatic children treated between 1954 and 1978 in the First Department of Pediatrics, Budapest, who have completed since then their 14th year of life. In 441 such children the sport achievements and the complaints after physical efforts have been taken into consideration. In 371 children tolerance tests with bicycle ergometer were done. It was found that among the recovered asthmatic children 48.9%, and among the nonrecovered 73.6% never have gone in for sport. The occurrence of bronchospasm due to bicycle-ergometer tolerance test (exercise induced asthma: EIA) corresponded to 19.5% among the healed patients and to 37.6% in the nonrecovered cases. In the authors' opinion, suitable persuasion could have induced a number of their former patients to go in for sport regularly. The authors refer the asthmatic patients to the possibility of physical culture. If EIA develops, medicaments are prescribed to these children, which enable them to go in for sport regularly.
Statistical data on the frequency of traffic accidents (run over) of pedestrians, mechanism, localization and severity of the produced injury are dealt with. Role of the medico-legal expert examining injuries caused by accidents, his opportunities in reconstruction of events and in prevention of accidents are reviewed. Importance of the complex work of medico-legal and technical experts and the possibility of it at the present time are discussed. Mental and physical characteristics of children playing a part in the traffic are also summarized. At last most important problems of the prevention of the traffic accidents of pedestrians are briefly reviewed.

One case of paranoid schizophrenia which for a long period remained latent is reported. The first manifest symptoms of the disease resulted in crime. The importance of the observation of the premorbid personality and detailed psychopathological analysis of it especially in forensic psychiatry are stressed. The basic task of the expert is to disclose the diagnosis of the mental illness. To reveal the relationship between the disease and the crime committed-which is the bases of the experts conclusion- all the circumstances of the crime should be considered. In the case reported the crime itself has had marks of insanity.

Studies on isolated canine jejunal loops revealed that hypertonic solutions of triiodinated contrast media produce a significant increase in intestinal blood flow together with a significant elevation of intraluminal pressure. The effect involves two factors, hyperosmolality and the nature of the medium itself.

Three examples of late post-irradiation brain necrosis are reported. In two cases operation was performed on account of the space-occupying effects of the lesions, and in the third case the lesion was found post-mortem. The aetiology and pathology of the condition are discussed. Our findings in the three cases described are contrasted with those in 29 patients who had been submitted to similar doses of irradiation, but had not developed necrosis. The literature on pathogenesis is briefly reviewed.

The case history of a patient with tuberous sclerosis with adenoma sebaceum of Pringle, periungual fibromata, epilepsy, retinal phacomata, renal hamartomata and cyst-like lesions of the phalanges is reported. Mosaic trisomy of chromosome 10 was observed in the patient.
Embolization of the arteria iliaca interna was employed to treat the severe, life-endangering haemorrhage in 8 patients with inoperable bladder tumour, 3 patients with uterine cancer (2 carcinoma colli uteri stage IIIb, 1 carcinoma corporis uteri stage III), and 1 patient with richly vascularized sarcoma, infiltrating the walls of the rectum and the vagina. Percutaneous catheteral embolization of the arteries of the haemorrhagic pelvic tumours is considered an intervention with little risk and accompanied by moderate general stress. In the treatment of tumourous patients under appropriate technical conditions, it is a suitable procedure for the prevention of fatal haemorrhage.
Author reviews the main causes of motorcycle-accidents, the most frequent types of injuries with regard to their rate, severity and localization. Executive and technical ways of prevention are briefly reported.
