[Clinical experience from antenatal CTG evaluation techniques according to Fischer, Hammacher, Hodr, and Kubi. Third communication: Score according to Hodr (author's transl)].

Evaluation on the basis of Hodr's CTG score was undertaken of 1,239 antepartum cardiotocograms obtained from 1,239 pregnant women. Inconspicuous cardiotocograms were obtained from 1,114 patients, that is 89.9 per cent, while dubious or prepathological findings were recorded from 123 women (nine per cent) and clearly pathological cardiotocographic findings from two. Predictions were correct in 1,019 cases (82.4 per cent), falsely positive in 147 cases (11.8 per cent), and falsely negative in 71 cases (5.7 per cent).

[Clinical experience obtained from use of antepartum CTG-evaluation technique, according to Fischer, Hammacher, Hodr, and Kubli. Fourth communication: score according to Kubli (author's transl)].

A total of 1,239 antepartum cardiotocograms, obtained from the same number of pregnant women, was evaluated on the basis of the CTG score proposed by Kubli. The cardiotocograms were unconspicuous, that is non-contributory, in the context of 752 patients (60.7 per cent), while 400 (32.3 per cent) gave rise to suspicion, and 87 (7.0 per cent) were pathological. Predictions were correct in 736 cases (59.5 per cent), falsely positive in 91 cases (7.4 per cent), and falsely negative in 410 cases (33.1 per cent).

[Clinical experience obtained from antepartal CTG evaluation according to Fischer, Hammacher, Hodr and Kubli. First communication: Fischer score (author's transl)].

The score proposed by Fischer and co-workers was used in evaluating 1,239 antepartal cardiotocograms which had been recorded from the same number of pregnant women. The cardiotocograms of 966 patients (78.0 per cent) were without pathological findings (between eight and ten scores on the condition index), while prepathological suspicion was recordable from 141 (11.4 per cent) (between five and seven scores), and pathological conditions from 132 (10.7 per cent) (between four and zero scores). Conditions of the newborn were correctly predicted in 913 cases (73.8 per cent), erroneously positive in 120 cases (9.7 per cent), and erroneously negative in 204 cases (16.5 per cent).

[On the influence of thiocyanates on the delayed immune response in intact and epinephrectomised guinea pigs (author's transl)].

Daily application of 32 mg/kg sodium thiocynate from 1--11th respectively 12th--21st experimental day causes in epinephrectomised guinea pigs at the 26th experimental day an inhibition of cell-mediated immune response (sensitization was induced by intraperitoneal injection of horse serum at the 5th and 7th experimental day). The inhibition of cell-mediated immune response could be demonstrated by means of migration inhibition of spleen cells. Epinephrectomy was performed by operation procedures twice a week. Gluco- and mineralocorticoids were applied supplementary. -- Also other proved thiocyanates respectively compounds with thiocyanate groups such as potassium thiocyanate, ammonium thiocyanate and d,1-2-imino-3.4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-thiacolidinhydrothiocyanate showed the same effect. The results are only pointed out in intact animals, but distinct in epinephrectomised guinea pigs. Finally a significant weaker effect, but of the same kind was observed by potassium- and sodium iodate. Every used dose of prednisolone and cyclophosphamide suppress the migration inhibition. The influence of 2-iminothiacolidin-4-carbon acid and desoxycorticosteronacetat on the migration inhibition is different and depends on the antigen dose applied for sensitization. -- Simulated daily injections undertaken in form of stitches and application of aqua destillata are inefficacious.

[Experience from use of Cardiff system (author's transl)].

Reported in this paper are 128 tocometrically controlled oxytocin infusions, using the Cardiff system. The oxytocic intervals were clearly shorter in comparison to conventional oxytocin drip infusion. However, more deliveries had to be completed surgically for foetal emergency situations, which, probably, was attributable to excessive rapid increase in oxytocin infusion rate due to the instruments used.

[Clinical experience obtained from antepartal CTG evaluation according to Fischer, Hammacher, Hodr, and Kubli. Second communication: Hammacher score (author's transl)].

One antepartal cardiotocogram each was taken from 1,239 pregnant women and evaluated by means of theCGT score, as proposed by Hammacher and co-workers. Inconspicuous cardiotocograms were recorded from 1,090 patients (88.0 per cent), while 124 (10.0 per cent) were suspicious, 20 (1.6 per cent) prepathological, and five (0.4 per cent) pathological. Forecasts of newborns' conditions were correct in 994 cases (80.4 per cent), erroneously positive in 140 cases (11.3 per cent), and erroneously negative in 103 cases (8.3 per cent).

[Diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of threatened abortion].

After legislation of therapeutic abortion in 1972 number of spontaneous abortions decreased about 30 per cent. In this paper causes, pathologic diagnosis, other diagnostic procedures and treatment of threatened abortions are discussed. Cytogenetic and ultrasonic methods should be extended. The effect of treatment in threatened abortions is still now not sure.

[Studies on the effectiveness of the anti-D-prevention at the Göttingen University Gynecological Clinic from 1969 to 1972].

The effectivity of the anti-D-prophylaxis performed at the Women's Hospital of the University of Göttingen was controlled by means of serological control examinations of those women, who represented an increase immunological risk of a potential formation of antibodies by means of a second and third Rh-positive infant. None of these women showed an anti-D-body-formation in spite of the application of very sensitive serological methods of examination. In about 10% of our examined women the standard dosis of 300 mug anti-D-IgG had to be increased, so as to achieve a complete elimination of fetal erythrocytes. This result underlines again the necessity of a careful control of influx of red blood corpuscles after the application of anti-D-IgG, so as to avoid failures of the applied prophylaxis. Though we are not in the position to give a final answer concerning the effectivity of our anti-D-prophylaxis with the control examination of 58 serologically observed women, we are of the opinion, that the special immunological stress of a second or third delivery in this special group of patients puts more weight to the observation. As there were no "failures" in these exposed patients to be found by means of the differentiated serological tests during the control examinations, we believe, that our anti-D-prophylaxis-scheme appears to be effective from the present point of view.

[Total estrogens and estrogen-creatinine ratio in pregnancy].

The ratio of estrogen excretion in urine (milligrams per 24 h) divided by creatinine (grams per 24 h) was determined in 571 specimens of 307 pregnant women and compared with total estrogen determinations. Use of estrogen-creatinine ratio reduced the daily variations of total estrogen values by one third resulting in a mean curve with less standard deviation.

[Significance of precise cytodiagnosis in the indication for diagnostic conisation].

Since 1. 3. 1972 cytologic laboratory exists at the Medical Center Wismar, Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Correlation between positive smears and histologic results was registered in 96% (1972 to 1973). In the time before (1969 to 1971) the correlation was only 41% caused by inexperienced investigators. Diagnostic conizations were frequent not indicated. Cytologic examinations are claimed to be carried out by special laboratories only.
