The changes in the blood toxicity of some antitumoral chemotherapeutic agents in the presence of erythropoiesis activation by bleeding are evaluated. The general toxicity seems to be unaffected but the damage to erythropoiesis proved, in absolute terms, to be more severe in the bled animals. The recovery of hematopoiesis was slower after some drug than others. These results are discussed in the light of present knowledge of hematopoietic kinetics and of the relationships between antiblastic drugs and staminal hematopoietic compartments.

A 12 year old patient with the Hallervorden-Spatz syndrome and suffering from acute intestinal obstruction during treatment with benztropine is presented. An upright film of the abdomen and opacification of the duodenum showed an abrupt cut off just to the right of the third lumbar vertebra. Abdominal ultrasound demonstrated a reduced superior mesenteric-aortic angle and distance. Predisposing factors in this patient were supine position, extreme opisthotonos and duodenal hypotonia induced by benztropine.

Statistics showing the good results obtained with the prolonged use of propanidid in association with Diazepine and a special type of psychodrug (Trazodone) in a large number of short and long anaesthesias suggest some remarks about the possibility of using this "ultrabrief" narcotic in a wide variety of operations that might otherwise require other anaesthetic behaviour.
