Infection with Yersinia enterocolitica usually procedures gastrointestinal symptoms. We here report a severe case of panniculitis-like lesions caused by Yersinia enterocolitica where only mild gastrointestinal symptoms were noticed. Blood samples revealed high Yersinia enterocolitica serotype 3 titres, increased ESR, leucocytosis, and in addition Yersinia enterocolitica was cultured from the faeces. When panniculitis-like lesions are the only clinical manifestation yersiniosis should be considered as a possible cause.
25 cases of cutaneous lymphocytoma were reviewed, of which 13 were benign lymphocytoma of the skin and 15 lymphocytic infiltration of the skin (Jessner). The clinical diagnosis benign lymphocytoma of the skin was in agreement with the histology, except in 2 patients where lymphocytic infiltration of the skin (Jessner) was the most likely clinical diagnosis. Of the 15 patients treated, 8 went into complete remission and 5 into partial remission. Eight patients suffered a relapse after partial and complete remission. The duration of the follow-up period varied between 2 months and 22 years. The histological diagnosis lymphocytic infiltration of the skin (Jessner) tallied in 9 patients with the clinical diagnosis, whereas in 6 patients the clinical diagnosis was benign lymphocytoma or pseudolymphoma. None of the patients developed systemic malignancy within the lymphoreticular system. A suspicious-looking skin lesion should always require further examination in order to exclude cutaneous manifestations of a systemic malignant lymphoreticular disease. The present histologic review demonstrates some uncertainty in diagnosing cutaneous lymhocytomas.l

Cellular protein and DNA content were determined by Feulgen--Naphthol Yellow S cytophotometry on isolated liver cells from rats fed ethanol for 2--6 months. It was found that parenchymal liver cells after ethanol feeding contained 13% more protein than cells of the same ploidy class from controls; that the average parenchymal cell in ethanol-fed rats contained 16% more protein than in controls due to the increased occurrence of polyploid cells; that the protein accumulation develops over 2 months, does not progress thereafter and disappears after a few days of reduced ethanol intake; that the tendency to form polyploid cells is accentuated during liver regeneration. It is suggested that the effect of alcohol on microtubular function, which is regarded as the cause of the protein accumulation, may also bring about increased polyploidization.

A new technique which detects the presence of DNA-polymerase and primer-template DNA by measuring the incorporation of 3H-thymidine-5'-triphosphate (3H-TTP) showed nuclear labelling of enzymatically liberated epidermal cells of human skin.
A 48-year-old woman with generalized scleroderma of the acrosclerosis type developed several lesions clinically, histologically and ultrastructurally, which were characteristic of necrobiosis lipoidica. The lesions were located to scar tissue. An increased collagen synthesis is suggested as a possible explanation.
A rare form of neurosyphilis with hypertrophic cervical pachymeningitis is presented. It is concluded that serological tests for syphilis are still indicated in patients with unexplained neurological or psychiatric symptoms.
A case of multiple keratoacanthomas in a 36-year-old healthy seaman is presented. Four months prior to the onset of the disease the patient had been exposed to strong sunlight. Histopathological examination gave the diagnosis of keratoacanthoma.
A new technique which detects the presence of DNA polymerase and primer-template DNA by measuring the incorporation of 3H-thymidine-5-triphosphate (3H-TTP) showed cytoplasmic labelling of eosinophilic granulocytes and eosinophilic myelocytes in normals, in acute leukaemia, in chronic myeloid leukaemia and in patients with eosinophilia of unknown origin.
