[Administration of salbutamol in intensive care. Effect on respiratory functions of 14 patients with acute respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation (author's transl)].
Salbutamol is a choice bronchodilator. However, a parenterally administered drug should be used with caution. It notably increases cardiac output and the shunt effect. It induces hypoxia and hypercapnia. This hypercapnia associated with hyperlactacidemia is responsible for a mixed acidosis.
