[Surgical treatment of diffuse toxic goiter associated with autoimmune thyroiditis].

An experience of the clinic with the surgical treatment of diffuse toxic goiter associated with autoimmune thyroiditis for the recent 16 years has been generalized based upon 258 observations. Long-term results followed in 73.6% of the patients show that an improved method of operation thought to be less radical gives good results. An immune depressive effect of the operation was noted. The investigation facilitates positive solution of the problem of the expediency of the surgical treatment of the complicated form of toxic goiter having indications for surgery.

[Disorders of regional blood flow in diabetic angiopathy of the lower limbs and their clinical significance].

Radionuclide methods were used for the examination of 102 patients with diabetic angiopathies of lower extremities. Disturbed blood flow of the muscles was revealed in 100% of the cases, the main blood flow being damaged in 48.6% of the patients. Four forms of diabetic angiopathies of lower extremities were distinguished, each of them requiring individual therapeutic measures.

[Surgery of thyrotoxicosis associated with diseases of the central nervous system].

Studies on 1432 thyrotoxicosis cases attracted the attention to a relatively high incidence (7.7%) of its association with damage to the central nervous system. 27 of 110 patients with combined type of thyrotoxicosis developed malignant exophthalmos. On the grounds of the studies of long-term results of the surgical treatment of these cases one could come to the conclusion, that surgical treatment of combined types of thyrotoxicosis was an efficient method. The clinic recommends complex preoperative management and a postoperative care procedure.
