Hypoharyngeal perforation with production of an esophageal pseudodiverticulum in the newborn is reviewed. Two new cases are reported and the clinical signs, very similar to those of tracheoesophageal fistula with esophageal artresia, commented upon. The radiological findings of the lesion are discussed, and hints on conservative treatment, advanced.

Herein we report a patient with scleromyxedema associated with seronegative polyarthritis and proximal myopathy. The histopathologic and electron microscopic features are described and compared with previously reported patients with documented scleromyxedema and myopathy.

A patient developed a scarlatina-like rash on two separate occasions after receiving a dose of pseudoephedrine. Patch tests with this substance and other structurally related substances (i.e. ephedrine, phenylephrine, and epinephrine) were negative. The oral test with pseudoephedrine provoked a new episode. It is difficult to clarify the exact mechanism of the described reaction; the nature of this eruption probably resembles many other drug-induced adverse reactions in which there is no certainty if mechanisms of type I or III are involved.
A 63-year-old woman presented with a metastasizing neuroendocrine carcinoma of the larynx (atypical carcinoid) that was misdiagnosed as laryngeal paraglioma. The calcitonin-producing tumor simulated a medullary thyroid carcinoma.
