Two new cases of the syndrome described by Kaplan, Grumbach and Hoyt are reported. The two children were hypopituitary dwarfs, with congenital nystagmus and small optic discs with double border. Pneumoencephalography showed malformations of the median structures, with trans-sphenoidal encephalocele in one case. The definition of this syndrome and its relation to De Morsier's septooptical dysplasia are briefly discussed.
The discovery of a fructose-1,6-diphosphatase deficiency in two sisters leads to the discussion of the various loading tests which are required for the diagnosis. The diagnosis may be discussed clinically with type I glycogenosis, and biologically with hereditary fructose intolerance. The specific characteristics of these disorders are analyzed as well as the problem of fructose induced hypoglucosemia. The failure of the treatment with folic acid in one of the cases leads to emphasize the suppression of prolonged fast in order to avoid acute accidents.

Subinhibitory doses of nystatin in the culture medium of Candida albicans gave yeasts with altered cell walls. Major alterations chiefly concerned the antigenic peptidomannans. Their amount in wall and their molecular weight were smaller in yeast grown with nystatin than in normal cultured yeast. Glucans and chitin were not seriously modified. Polymers requiring lipidic intermediates such as dolichol phosphate for their biosynthesis seemed to be most affected by the presence of nystatin.
