Of the patients who had received radiotherapy for malignant testicular tumors between May 1957 and December 1975, 100 were alive without recurrence and without previous chemotherapy at the time of this study. An evaluable ejaculate could be examined in 52 of these patients. The patients were divided into eight groups according to the radiation fields employed. In this manner a direct correlation between the radiation field distribution, which determined the field size, and the development of azoospermia could be made. The appearance of azoospermia was also temporally related to the onset of radiotherapy. This is not the result of a tumor induced hormonal alteration. It is caused by destruction of the spermatogonia, the precursor cells of spermatozoa, and a resulting failure of spermatogenesis. This azoospermia is dependent on the irradiation received by the healthy testicle and may therefore be partially or totaly reversible or irreversible.

Abnormalities of the lower urinary tract are relative contraindications for kidney transplantation that have been overcome by corrective operations or construction of conduits. In our 2 patients with posterior urethral valves and defunctionalized lower urinary tracts kidney transplantation with ureteroneocystostomy and later resection of the valves resulted in satisfactory bladder function and normal voiding patterns. Therefore, urinary diversion was completely avoided.
This report describes a patient, whom we observed for 3 years, exhibiting a coincidence of dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring and systemic Lupus erythematosus. The difficulties involved in demarcating bullous lupus erythematosus from the more rare association of bullous pemphigoid or dermatitis herpetiformis with systemic lupus erythematosus are discussed in connection with differential, histological, direct and indirect immunofluorescence diagnostic aids.

Presentation of a case of Wegener syndrome with two remarkable atypisms: multiple visceral localizations and evolution lasting over 17 years without any chemotherapy. Discussion of these abnormalities, particularly of the importance, in this slow evolution, of an early exeresis of the granuloma in the upper airways.

The paper report on of 207 interruptions, which were performed in our clinic from oct. 1st to oct. 31st 1974. The analysis of the interrupted cases resulted in an average age of 26,3 years. 73,9 per cent of the women are married and 36,2 per cent were pregnant for the third time. The main causes for these not desired pregnancies lay in failure of Knaus' and Ogino's method of prevention (39,2 per cent). A great number of patients gives for the reason of interruption no wish for further children (35,3 per cent). At the end the causes of pregnancy and reasons of the interruption are discussed. The aim is to lower interruptions.
Study on macroporours IX resins and the pore structure. In addition to ion exchange reactions, macroporous ion exchange resins also show adsorptive properties which are due to the large pores of the resin beads and to the inner surface inside the beads. To measure this surface and the pore radii requires very precise fixation of the condition existing prior to the drying of the water-moist resin beads. Such stabilizing fixation can be achieved by displacing the regain water by isopropyl alcohol and subsequent drying for measuring the pore data.
