The clinicoimmunological study revealed immunocompetence dysfunction in 28 patients with idiopathic ventricular arrhythmias resistant to ritmilen. After sodium nucleinate immunomodulation, ritmilen therapy proved to be beneficial in 46.6% of the patients. A positive result was obtained only in the patients who showed the same or close values as in healthy individuals. The comparison has led to the conclusion that idiopathic ventricular arrhythmias are directly related to immune dysfunction and to the recommendation that sodium nucleinate should be used in the multimodality therapy of the arrhythmias.

The article summarizes the results of epidemiological observation which was performed in one of the training units. The goals of this observation were to estimate the prophylactic efficiency of the selected application of Natrii nucleinas in persons with the lowered immunoresistance on the background of antigrip immunization. A high clinico-epidemiological effectiveness ws approved for 10-days administration of the Natrii nucleinas in persons with clinic manifestations of grip and other respiratory infections at the moment of vaccination. It is resulted in the diminishing of the morbidity index, duration and gravity of this pathology in the postvaccinal period. The administration of Natrii nucleinas was experimentally substantiated during this epidemiological observation.

The initial immunological status in patients with purulent infection of the soft tissues is characterized by T-cell deficiency and relative hyperfunction of the B-immunity. The risk group with Grade 2-3T-cell immune deficiency takes up 44.5-77.5% and is encountered in patients with the B blood group and positive Rh factor in 79.1 +/- 5.2 and 70.8 +/- 4.3% of cases, respectively. Combination of sodium nucleinate and autohemotransfusion with the traditional therapy raises its efficacy. This is attended by correction of immunological disorders in T-cells and phagocytes, facilitates cleansing of the foci and increase of antibiotic sensitivity of the flora, and shortens the term of treatment.
A study is presented of 32 patients (18 men, 14 women; age from 16 to 38 years) with WPW syndrome. Immunological investigations revealed characteristic of WPW syndrome phenotypic peculiarities with characteristic changes of the immune status, allowed to evaluate the mechanism of formation of Kent's bundle and to discuss the problem of primary prophylaxis by means of immunoactive agents.
Experiments on immunized rabbits and guinea pigs indicated that sodium nucleinate (SN) was capable of weakening or entirely eliminating anaphylactic and skin reactions of delayed type hypersensitivity to repeated administration of staphyloanatoxin, APDT vaccine. The findings on patients with the infectious form of bronchial asthma and chronic rheumatism showed that sodium nucleinate attenuated reactions to the subcutaneous administration of staphylococcal and streptococcal allergens. The treatment of patients suffering from infectious-allergic bronchial asthma and rheumatism with SN resulted in the recovery of deficient T cells, T-suppressors, normalization of immunoglobulin concentrations. In children with acute glomerulonephritis sodium nucleinate normalized decreased T-suppressor cells and increased IgG and circulating immune complexes (CIC), resulting in a pronounced remission of disease. The mechanism of desensitization and elimination of CIC by SN has not been explored, however, the parameters of SN-induced immunomodulation are known rather completely. It is suggested that SN brings about accumulation in the cell of cyclic AMP which diminished membrane permeability, activates monoaminooxidase resulting in the degradation of histamine and other biogenic amines, enhances the synthesis of endogenous corticosteroids with their desensitizing properties. All these effects contribute to the elimination of delayed type hypersensitivity. The role of SN in the inhibition of delayed type hypersensitivity remains obscure.
The relationship of blood groups and level of immunological reactivity was studied in 500 patients with different diseases and 246 healthy subjects. Distribution of genetic markers of blood groups in the healthy and patients showed certain characteristic features. It was found that the A (11) blood group in the healthy may be considered a marker of high levels of immunological reactivity resulting in a milder course of diseases in persons of this blood group. It was shown that different pathological states are characterized by variations of immunological reactivity depending on the blood group--on the content of populations and subpopulations of lymphocytes, immunoglobulin of different classes, normal antibodies, grade of immunodeficiency.
Experiments on a great number of animals with the use of various methods showed that yeast NaRNA was capable of stimulating the increase of virulence, immunogenicity and antigenicity in S. typhi, the acceleration of their proliferation and growth, the accumulation of RNA and nucleotides without increasing their toxigenicity.

Yeast RNA and sodium nucleinate considerably increased the nonsusceptibility of mice to pathogenic escherichia and typhoid salmonellae. Ineffective single nucleonate doses created an intense resistance in repeated use; prolonged application was not accompanied by the appearance of tolerance to the preparation. The principal mechanism of the induced phenomenon consisted in the intensification of the bacterial elimination and the endotoxin detoxification chiefly realized by the activity of the mobile phagocytes.

The authors demonstrated the adjuvant activity of the RNA preparations injected subcutaneously. In the treatment of mice with the vaccine with a stimulant there was increase of antibody production and of their resistance to infection with typhoid causative agent in comparison with the animals which were only immunized. When the adjuvant was used the vaccine dose could be devreased 2- to 8-fold without any reduction of the immunity formed. RNA injection to the immunized animals on the 25th day after the onset of the experiment produced a revaccinating effect.
Experiments were conducted on mice. A possibility was demonstrated of express prophylaxis of typhoid fever by subcutanoues injection of the vaccine and by oral administration of sodium nucleinate, of lowering the dose by half and replacement of revaccination by sodium nucleinate alone. An increase in the titre of typhoid agglutinins and of preventive activity of the blood serum was revealed on volunteers.
