We report the clinical, histopathological, and ultrastructural features of a case of Woringer-Kolopp disease, review the literature, and discuss the relationship of the condition to mycosis fungoides. At the present time it is best to regard Woringer-Kolopp disease as a form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma that may remain localized for many years or may eventually be associated with widespread mycosis fungoides.
A case report of multicentric Castleman's disease associated with Kaposi's sarcoma is presented. Histologic examinations of cutaneous lesions and of an axillary lymph node were made. The cutaneous lesions showed Kaposi's sarcoma and a lymph node revealed Castleman's disease and foci of spindle cells characteristic of Kaposi's sarcoma. The association of Castleman's disease and Kaposi's sarcoma appears too frequently to be due to chance alone. We speculate that these two entities may reflect different tissue reactions to the same causative agent.
Multicentric angiofollicular lymphoid hyperplasia occurred in a brother and a sister. This is the first report of familial incidence of this disease, which raises the possibility of a hereditary or environmental factor in its pathogenesis.
We have described a 25-year-old man with infestation of the feet by the burrowing flea Tunga penetrans, acquired in Brazil. We have also presented the microscopic characteristics of the flea and the histologic differential diagnosis.

Granulomatous lesions were found in histologic sections of aspirated bone marrow in nine patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The lesions fell into three distinct histologic types. Type I, present in four patients, consisted of focal-to-diffuse lesions showing small lymphocytes intermingled with abundant benign epithelioid cells, occasionally forming discrete granulomas. Giant cells were prominent, some of which showed cytoplasmic inclusions of bony fragments. Many eosinophils and a few plasma cells were present. Type II, present in three patients, consisted of foci of malignant lymphoma containing collections of benign-appearing epithelioid cells forming discrete granulomas. Eosinophils and plasma cells were not prominent. Type III, found in two patients, showed discrete collections of small lymphocytes and histiocytes with an increased number of plasma cells, eosinophils, and megakaryocytes at the periphery. The significance of these lesions is discussed.

A patient is reported with unusually severe variance of a prosthetic Beall fabricated Teflon disc valve in the tricuspid position. Foreign material was found in the vessels, vessel walls, and parenchyma of the lung associated with a foreign body type of inflammatory reaction. This material was identified by scanning electron microscopy and high energy dispersive x-ray analysis as Teflon that was embolic from the eroded valve.
Recording derivative spectrophotometry is a technic for resolving overlapping absorbance curves by enhancing small changes in those curves. The derivative (slope) is a function sensitive to rapid changes in the curve and will amplify those regions while damping out slowly changing portions of curves. The method presented relies on a mathematical analysis of the composite absorption curve formed by bilirubin and hemoglobin. Data confirming the usefulness of this technic for reliably and quantitatively separating these two substances in aqueous solution are presented. Recording derivative spectrophotometry may be useful for analyzing amniotic fluid, urine, or other biologic fluids.

Two cases of peripelvic hemorrhage simulating tumors (Antopol-Goldman lesion) are reported. In the 2 cases, nephrectomies were performed. With more knowledge of this lesion, and of its rapid disappearance, a waiting period and repeated intravenous pyelogram might prevent some unnecessary surgery.
The authors report two cases of ceroid-containing granulomas of the gallbladder, an entity not previously reported in the American medical literature. They postulate that in some cases of chronic cholecystitis, bile provides the substrate for the formation of ceroid within histiocytes. The ceroid granulomas were incidental findings associated with chronic cholecystitis and cholelithiasis.
An unusual band on the cathodic side of the membrane was found on lactate dehydrogenase electrophoresis of blood specimens from 18 patients. Fifteen patients died shortly after the finding. No specific cause was found for the unique band, but most of the patients had arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease with acute passive hyperemia of the liver, and prerenal azotemia.
