[Mucormycosis of the maxillary sinus and the ethmoid labyrinth].

An observation of mucoromycotic sinusitis in a patient with diabetes mellitus is described. The disease was in the form of acute progressive suppurative-necrotic maxillary sinusitis-ethmoiditis complicating an abscess of the nasal septum. Mucoromycosis was diagnosed by histological examinations of tissues removed from the affected sinuses. Pathomorphology of this disease was characterized by deep invasion of the fungus into the tissues including blood vessels, the development of vascular disorders, extensive necroses, formation of nonspecific granulomas.

[Management of hypertensive patients while searching for a "thread of Ariadne" in the labyrinth of recommendations].

The abundance of "recommendations" concerning the management of hypertension reflects the Public Health importance of this problem. This abundance and the absence of any real consensus concerning all aspects of this management can leave readers somewhat disconcerted. In this context, the authors attempt to define the guidelines adopted by the various Expert Committees in their approach in order to improve diagnostic performance and treatments, which are still very insufficient, in the field of hypertension.
