[Approach to age determination based on dental morphological criteria obtained in microradiography, stereomicroscopy and scanning electron microscopy].

The determination of the age owing to the morphology of permanent teeth has been done in 14 men and women, using criteria proposed by Gustafson. It was faithful, the difference between age determined by this method and the true age of these patients being never superior to 3 years. The application of scanning electron microscopy allows to improve some of the criteria used for this determination, especially that based upon the dentinal senescence.

Atypical root resorption of maxillary primary central incisors due to digital sucking: a report of 82 cases.

To illustrate particular patterns of apical root resorption in primary maxillary central incisors of digital suckers, the radiographs of patients in a private pedodontic practice were evaluated. All cases in this study displayed one of four typical forms of apical root resorption. Radiographic findings appeared in children as young as twenty-five months of age.

They emphasise that these iatrogenic lesions can be avoided by the use of moderate forces appropriately applied and the functional conception of orthopedic treatment.

The effects of indomethacin on resorption and ankylosis in replanted teeth.

Indomethacin, a nonsteroidal, antiinflammatory analgesic, interferes with the action of prostaglandin synthetase such that osteoclastic activity is reduced. Encouraging results were obtained, pointing toward an improved long-term prognosis for replanted teeth, and as a possible solution to excessive root resorption.
