Twenty-eight patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis for renal failure and seven patients suffering from chronic uremia, but not on dialysis programs were submitted to the Rorschach test. The patients who were undergoing haemodialysis for less than one year showed higher signs of anxiety (shock and Hd responses); on the other hand patients undergoing the treatment for more than 5 years showed a generally worse quality response to the test. This bad performance was interpreted either as a sign of organic brain damage or as a worse cooperation in the test procedure.
The subjects were 108 Swedish children between 10 and 12 years old, who constituted a divorce and a non-divorce group of 27 girls and 27 boys each. Rorschach Tests were administered individually and human movement responses were analysed. Non-divorce children perceived more cooperative and fewer hostile interactions than the divorce children. Responses containing figures engaged in hostile interaction were most common among divorce girls, whereas the divorce boys had difficulties in perceiving any interaction whatsoever. The different effect of parental divorce on the ability of girls and boys to develop satisfactory social relationships is discussed.

The intention of this report has been to proof the pattern of psychosomatic aspects in Psoriasis vulgaris, as it was developed by Vogel. The method used was the psychoanalytic interpretation of the Rorschach-Test. First this method is described. Important test-results are reported and discussed in comparison with the psychosomatic aspects found by Vogel. There is some coincidence, particularly in sexualisation of intentional and oral desires, and also in the somatisation of the conflict between libidinous and aggressive impulses. Finally an example of test-setting is reported to demonstrate the method of interpretating.
The perennial dispute between clinicians and researchers as to the validity of the Rorschach is discussed. It is suggested both groups are correct in that the Rorschach provides both poor psychometric data as seen by the researcher and rich idiographic data as seen by the clinician. The freedom of the Rorschach response process is viewed as largely responsible for both these situations. Some possible new directions for Rorschach usage and research are discussed which may improve on the quality of the idiographic information provided by the Rorschach test.

Attention is called to the clinical problem of masked depressions and depressive equivalents. In certain situations, the "impotence" symptom can be classified sonographically among cyclothymic disturbances. The Rorschach test has been used to study some typical cases and it is stressed that a psychodiagnostic investigation may be useful in the differential diagnosis of the clinical syndrome.

BACKGROUND: The majority of patients with cystic fibrosis today reach adulthood. During adolescence, however, many ask themselves questions regarding their possible future realisation. AIMS: The aim of this study, which was performed using the Rorschach test, was to identify areas of particular problems in a group of CF adolescents monitored by the Pneumology Division of Regina Margherita Children's Hospital in Turin: 26 subjects aged between 14 and 18, including 11 females and 15 males. METHODS: The analysis of the test was based on the use of thought, interior resources, instincts and interpersonal relations. The type of intimate resonance was also taken into account and, lastly, a study of the contents was performed using a self-representation grid. RESULTS: The results obtained show a dishomogeneous profile of the development and quality of intellectual processes faced with the intensity of anxiety, mainly loss anxiety, linked to the disease, even if unrelated to its severity. The integration of emotive and instinctual aspects is difficult: mental development towards adult life appears to be impeded by the predominance of regressive modalities. CONCLUSIONS: On the basis of the study performed, it is possible to hypothesise the need for psychological help aimed at achieving a more evolved psychic organisation, possible as part of an overall management programme by the medical and nursing team.
