Nine cases of ameloblastic fibroma are described and compared with published data on this odontogenic tumour. The median age of the 7 male and 2 female patients was 11 years (range 2-17 yrs.). The tumour was localized in the posterior segment of the mandible and less often in the maxilla. The neoplasia was frequently associated with impaction and agenesis of teeth. Although recurrences of ameloblastic fibromas are rare, long-term follow-up is recommended.
Unerupted teeth have been a familiar problem in dental profession for many years. This article described how to manage the unerupted teeth including 2 case reports. The treatment planning can be either no treatment, orthodontic treatment or surgical treatment alone, or combined orthodontic and surgical treatment. With comprehensive analysis, consideration of etiologic factors, diagnosis and proper treatment planning, unerupted teeth can be brought into the dental arch for normal functional and esthetic stability.
Every dentist has to know the dentitional development well enough to be able to assess regularly this complicated process with its many normal variations and (topical) aberrations. If they become clinical problems, they require diagnosis, long-term supervision and interceptive and/or corrective treatment. In this article the advantages and disadvantages of panoramic radiology for the diagnosis of the dentitional development are described. A systematic method of interpretation of the panoramic X-rays is recommended.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta constitutes a group of anomalies include between the lethal form of the disease and a condition in which the cortical bone is thiness and more breakable. It's frequently associated to dental abnormalities. It's possible to found serious bone alterations associated to regular dentition or on the contrary. The present article reports a clinical case with Osteogenesis Imperfecta Tarda.
When there's a diagnosis of follicular cyst. In front of lesions of advanced decay in deciduoud teeth about which is possible to presume chronical apical infection, we have to evaluate carefully the choice of treatment: pulpectomy or exodontia and the placement of a space maintainer. In this article there's a case in which a non-indicated pulpectomy was practised and caused a follicular cyst which is a menace to the formation and position of the unerupted permanent teeth. After the surgery we proceeded to exodontia and subsequently to place a space maintainer.
S. sobrinus OMZ 176 was inoculated in young OM rats during tooth eruption in two experiments and the microbial composition of dental plaque as well as the caries decay was estimated after 25 days on cariogenic sucrose rich diet. Germs were reproducibly established in the oral cavity by such way. The resulting caries decay correlated with the streptococci in the dental plaque. Due to this fact it seems to be necessary to identify not only the inoculated microorganisms at the end of each animal experiment but also to estimate the qualitative composition of the whole dental flora which may have an essential cariogenic effect.

The close examination of the central osseous and/or parosteal lesions of the jaws must be reconducted to the study of the main fundamental embryonal processes that take place in the primordial stomodeus. Some pathological lesions can arise from the rests that survive after the disgregation of various odontogenic epithelial structures destined to disappear with growth: the epithelial root sheath, the dental lamina and the external epithelium of the enamel organ. Some osseous lesions can also originate from the nonodontogenic epithelial rests: this tissue comes from the uncompleted obliteration of the ectodermic layer during the processes of union and fusion of the various embryonal components of the maxillary structures.
A case is described in which, after removal of midline supernumerary teeth on two separate occasions, an unerupted central incisor was brought into the arch with the aid of neodymium-iron-boron magnets. Once the incisor was visible, a pre-adjusted upper edgewise appliance was used to guide the tooth into its correct position.
We have a bibliografical study of the composite odontomas from the diagnostical point of view. We will present two clinical cases. Once the medical revision is done, and the tumor is localized, we analyze lesions associated with the tumor and compare the diagnostic from the clinical point of view as well as the radiografical point of view.

An acyanotic cardiac disease (ASD) was diagnosed in a 9-year-old girl with a very high caries incidence and premature tooth eruption. After the heart operation her caries incidence declined considerably. An epidemiological survey was then conducted to find out if these observations could be generalized. dmf-t, dmfs, DMF-T and DMFS values for each year were counted retrospectively for a group of acyanotic heart diseased children operated on at the age of 5-7 years (mean 6) and another group operated on at the age of 10-13 years (mean 12), from the documents relating to annual examinations conducted by the public health dental services. The results were compared to those of healthy children matched for age and sex living in the same area. Heart disease resulted in DMF-T values above the control level in the group operated on at age 6 years, whereas the values were lower than the controls in the group operated on at age 12 years, the difference being significant after the operation in the latter case. It is concluded that acyanotic congenital heart disease may lead to a higher caries prevalence and sometimes rampant caries. When the caries prevalence of the population is high, however, (DMF-T higher than 4.5 at 12 years), the effect of heart disease remains hidden.

Bibliography was researched in pursuit of an improved classification of retained canine teeth that may, ideally, prove to be simpler, easy to apply in any individual case, and uncomplicated to remember. Desirably, such classification would allow establishing the location of each retention in the maxilla, mandible, or both, and its relationship with adjacent structures. Additionally, a proposal was put forth for a retained canine teeth classification that may clearly and simply outline the retention, be easily understood and remembered, and may also apply to retained dentary organs with some similarity to canines as to their shape and root number.
