[Localization of initiating codons in RNA prokaryotes messengers by learning technics].

Learning processes are applied to the recognition of protein coding regions in prokaryotes. Non-contradictory, statistical rules are deduced from a set of known examples of coding regions. These rules allow us to build characteristic patterns on the m-RNA upstream the initiating codon. These rules are applied to recognize more than 180 coding sequences.

Self-directed learning and medical rehabilitation: a comparison.

A comparison is made between medical rehabilitation and continuing medical education (CME). It is hypothesized that such a comparison can help physicians who have little formal training in educational methodology to become more efficient and effective in carrying out their own self-directed learning. This hypothesis is based on the premise that the decision-making processes are similar for managing the medical rehabilitation of a patient and for carrying out self-directed CME.

[Programmed diagnosis of rheumatic diseases in general practice (author's transl)].

In the large number of rheumatic diseases and their often very different types - typical symptomatology is seldom complete - a reliable classification of a particular form of disease is often not easy. The "programmed diagnosis" presented here should be a signpost from the clinical picture, by way of the provisional diagnosis and the necessary diagnostic measures, to the final diagnosis.
