[Agonal and postmortem movement sequences in hanging].

The agonal and supravital movement sequences documented are evaluated on the basis of a case of hanging which was recorded with a video camera. This is evidently an autoerotic accident which was initially misinterpreted by the police as suicidal hanging. The process of hanging documented in the film allows inferences with regard to the genesis of concomitant injuries during the various movement phases. In contrast to observations communicated so far in the literature, the inspiratory phase has particular significance. Moreover, the time course underscores the well-known loss of consciousness within seconds.

Autoerotic asphyxial death following television broadcast.

How individuals who engage in autoerotic asphyxial activities first become aware of its purported erotic potential is debated. The case of an adult male who died from autoerotic asphyxiation shortly after watching a television show that discussed sexual asphyxiation is reported. A request is made that medical examiners and coroners report other accidental autoerotic deaths that are temporally associated with this television broadcast.

[A case of incarceration of the penis].

A 38-year-old male patient had been suffering from incarceration of penis with a milk-bottle for about seventeen hours. It was successfully removed by means of a glass cutter and hammer without any complication. Fifty-seven Japanese cases of this entity including our case were reviewed and discussed.

Sexual behaviour, a stress factor affecting ovulation and cycle length.

The hormonal profile and clinical picture of women, mean age 21 years, with aberrant anovulatory cycles, lasting from 35-65 days were presented. Although all subjects had orgasmic experiences by automanipulation, and 4 had sporadic sex with men, the fact of not having regular heterosexual relationship, acts as an emotional stress, with resulting higher PRL and urinary catecholamine level, as compared to an age-matched control group of 14 women, having regular 1-2 weekly coitus. Sexual behaviour affects cycle length and ovulation, having no effect on estradiol level. Menstrual disorders and aberrant long cycles, resulting from absence of or sporadic sexual encounters should not be treated. They are a temporary phenomenon, which disappears after establishment of normal heterosexual life-style.
