Thirty-fifth convocation of IIPS.

The Thirty-Fifth Convocation of the International Institute for Population Sciences, Bombay, was held on May 6, 1993. The convocation was presided over by Mrs. Usha Vohra, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and Chairperson, Executive Council, International Institute for Population Sciences, Bombay. The chief quest of the day's function was Shri, Paban Singh Ghatowar, Honorable Union Deputy Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, who delivered the convocation address. Other distinguished guests present at the Convocation included Dr. Y. Sivaji, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); (Mrs.) Suma Chitnis, Vice-Chancellor, S.N.D.T. Women's University, Bombay; Dr. Bob Rutherford, East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mr. S.P. Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group of Industries, Bombay. Prof. K.B. Pathak, Ag. Director, IIPS, welcomed the guests and presented the Director's Report for the Academic Year 1992-93. The degrees and diplomas were awarded by Mrs. Usha Vohra, and the gold and silver medals were distributed by Shri. Paban Singh Ghatowar.
