Koro is a syndrome consisting of fears that the male organ is withdrawing into the abdominal cavity and ultimately this will lead to death. The syndrome is observed among inhabitants of South East Asia and seems to be extremely rare outside that geographical area. In this paper one case of koro is described in a Yemenite Jewish immigrant and another in a Georgian Jewish immigrant to Israel. Some of the theoretical aspects and implications of the koro syndrome are discussed.
To date, we have no uniform definition of ejaculatio praecox. In a qualitative approach, premature ejaculation is ascribed to a failure to control excitement. As causes, organic disorders and erectile dysfunction must be excluded. The majority of cases, however, are due to psychological or partnership problems. The history-taking should aim, in particular, to uncover possible anxiety in conjunction with premature orgasm, and also to establish the reactions of the partner. As therapy, medication (local anesthetics, antidepressive agents, PDE-5 inhibitors) and sexual-therapeutic measures are available. Since few sufferers take the initiative in seeking treatment, particular importance attaches to providing the public with information about the therapeutic options for treating this common disorder.
An autoerotic fatality due to mechanical compression of the neck by a sophisticated construction used for breath control games is reported. The presence of signs of methemoglobinemia as well as an empty "poppers" flask found beside the passed indicated the use of volatile nitrites to enhance sexual pleasure. It was assumed that vasodilatation had caused a sudden unconsciousness with consecutive hanging.

Our work with women with sexual aversion documents the presence of marked sexual avoidance behaviors as specified in the DSM-III-R1 diagnostic criteria for this disorder. At the same time, we demonstrate the presence of normal sexual desire and capacity for orgasm in these women. These two findings offer support for a valid diagnostic differentiation between sexual aversion disorder and hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Inherent in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual aversion disorder is an appreciation by the clinician of the tremendous approach-avoidance conflict that exists in these patients. The behavioral and cognitive avoidance features, therefore, need to be elicited actively by the clinician during all phases of assessment and treatment. These features are not always offered readily by the patients for fear of having to relinquish these strategies and their related sense of control over the overwhelming anxiety that sexual intimacy can produce. Consequently, treatment is not always straightforward and successful.

The examined group was representative for the investigated population (chi squared test: p> 0.005 for the entire group and both sexes). 313 questionnaires were qualified for further analysis. The questionnaire applied was composed of three groups of questions: questions concerning relationships and associated sexuality, questions concerning attitudes towards various aspects of sexuality and a set of questions dedicated to the role of sexology in the medical curriculum and general medical practice. The presented paper deals with the forms of sexual behaviours and attitudes towards contraception. Many cases have been published in the urological literature of foreign bodies apparent in the bladder and urethra. Based on the five cases we are now presenting, we review this chapter of urology. We discuss the clinico-pathological aspects of this pathology and provide diagnostic and therapeutical guidance. We recall the role urologists have to play in preventing such events in the course of their diagnostic and therapeutic activity.
