A total of 3,656 subjects (M = 1,893., F = 1,763) comprising 1,560 children with deciduous teeth (M = 796., F = 764) and 2,096 individuals with permanent teeth (M = 1,097., F = 999) were studied for the Carabelli's anomaly. The trait occurred with higher proportions in females with deciduous teeth (38.4%) and males with permanent teeth (29.2% than in their counterparts. Significant differences were observed in the occurrence of the anomaly between upper and lower income group children with deciduous teeth (chi 21 = 4.7139), and between upper and middle income group persons with permanent teeth (chi 21 = 5.4987). There were no significant differences between other religious groups and Hindu communities. The incidence of the cusp is slightly more in younger children with deciduous teeth (below 5 years) than in others. No consistent trend was observed in persons with permanent teeth.

In the last decade, combined periodontic-endodontic techniques have been used to save many teeth previously considered to be hopeless. As knowledge of these techniques becomes more utilized by practicing dentists the next ten years hopefully will evolve into ones in which most people enjoy a lifetime with a natural dentition.

Double anomalies of the lower lateral anterior deciduous teeth of three siblings were studied clinically and radiographically. In one case, the double anomalies were demonstrable in the permanent tooth germs. Various differentiation stages of schizodontia were observed. Apparently, the anomalies were genetically determined in the three cases. Effects on the change of teeth as well as anomalies in the shape and number of the permanent teeth were reported.
A detailed inspection of the inner tooth morphology on röntgenogram is necessary as the surface morphology generally does not reveal the existence of an invagination. The irreversible pathological evolution occurring when diagnosis is neglected, should incite the practitioner to look for invaginations on every set of röntgenograms. Five therapeutic techniques are described. If an appropriate endodontic technique is applied, a successful root canal filling can be achieved.
