[Informational characteristics of the impulse activity of cat sensomotor cortex neurons during elaboration of a defensive conditioned reflex].

Manifestations of the dynamics of defensive conditioning were studied in the cat sensorimotor cortical units. It has been shown that the process of learning is linked to the dynamics of the amount of total and useful information present in the evoked spike responses to a conditioned stimulus. As the pairings continue, the amount of useful information increases in reactions to conditioned or unconditioned stimuli and in the period preceding the conditioned stimulation.

[Combined action of gamma and UHF radiation on conditioned reflex behavior of rats].

Dynamics of the conditioned behaviour of rats in a shuttle box was studied after combined exposure to Cs-gamma radiation (1 Gy, 1.32 Gy/min) and microwave radiation (2450 MHz, 1 mW/cm2, 3 h). The number of conditioned and interstimulus responses was found to decrease on day 5 after microwave + gamma irradiation and to increase on day 30 after gamma + microwave irradiation.

[Conditioned reflex taste aversion during dog ontogeny].

The conditioned taste aversion (CTA) in dogs of different age including suckling puppies, is elaborated in one combination of conditioned stimulus (taste of 30% sucrose solution) with discomfort, elicited by parenteral injection of 0.28 M of LiCl solution. CTA persists up to a week and a half in mother-fed puppies, whose long-term memory for exteroceptive signals is not yet formed. In elaboration of CTA participation of not only intero- but also exteroceptive signals has been revealed even at early stages of ontogenesis. The longest preservation of CTA is common to animals of exaltative period of development. However, here two subperiods may be singled out characterised by different ability to CTA extinction depending on presence or absence of previous acquaintance with conditioned stimulus (2-2.5 and 3-4 months). The time of CTA extinction in suckling puppies does not depend on the degree of previous acquaintance with conditioned stimulus.

[Various neurochemical mechanisms for the production of conditioned reflexes of various biologicals modalities at the level of the caudate nucleus].

Microinjection of noradrenaline in to the head of the caudate nucleus failed to influence the latent time of the conditioned reaction of avoidance and the muscle tone, but limited the motor activity and considerably increased the value and the latent time of the food-procuring reflex. Serotonin failed to influence the latent time of the conditioned defence reflex and did not alter the motor activity of rats; however, it shortened the latent period of the conditioned motor-food reflex and markedly stimulated the food-procuring reaction. Dopamine inhibited the conditioned food and defence reflex, but markedly stimulated the spontaneous motor activity of rats. The data obtained pointed to differences in the neurochemical mechanisms realizing the conditioned reflex reactions of different biological modality at the level of the caudate nucleus of rats.
