Granular cell myoblastoma of the vulva. A report of three cases.

The vulvar region is one of the sites of predilection for granular cell myoblastomas, tumours now proven to originate from Schwann cells. Considered to be a benign tumor, malignant changes have been suspected. Wide excision is therefore recommended. Three cases of vulvar granular cell myoblastoma are reported.

Multifocal granular cell tumors of the gastrointestinal tract.

Granular cell tumors infrequently appear in the gastrointestinal tract. Lesions have been reported in all segments from the esophagus to the rectum, but no previous reports have identified simultaneous lesions in various segments. We describe a patient with granular cell tumors of the esophagus, stomach, appendix, and cecum. Our case emphasizes the need to evaluate the entire gastrointestinal tract when a single lesion is identified. The radiographic approach and pathological characteristics are discussed. Therapeutic alternatives are presented.

[Giant granulo-cellular Abrikosov's tumor].

A case of Abrikossoff's granular-cell tumor is reported because of its unusually large dimensions (12.5 X 10.5 X 8.0 cm.), weight (700 g.) and supra-umbilical localization. Ample surgical excision of the tumor and reconstruction of the abdominal wall with silastic and skin graft were performed. Comments are made about the clinical, histopathological and histogenetic aspects of the neoplasia.

[Multicentric granular cell tumor of the tracheobronchial tree].

The authors describe a case of multicentric endotracheobronchial myoblastoma with one endotracheal localization and two bronchial localizations. The patient underwent resection of the inferior lobe of the left lung. The tracheal tumor was not removed. Two years after surgery the patient is doing well. Several biopsy specimens have been removed from the tracheal tumor which has remained unchanged. Cases such as ours are very uncommon. Therapeutic decisions may be difficult.

Granular cell tumor of the orbit: case report and review of the literature.

This is a case report of orbital granular cell tumor in a 65-year-old female who came to our attention with progressive medial displacement of her right eye for the past two years. Clinical, radiologic, histologic, and ultrastructural features of the tumor are described and a review of 18 previously reported cases is given.
