[Sisomicin. The mechanism of admixture inactivation and formation].

Inactivation of sisomicin in aqueous solutions was studied under various conditions. At pH 4-10 and a temperature of 60 degrees C the inactivation rate constant was equal to (5-10) X 10(-5) hour-1 and remained stable. At lower pH values the inactivation rate constant increased: 5.5 10(-3) (60 degrees C) at pH 0.5. The activation energy of the inactivation reaction was 27 (pH 0.5) and 32 (pH 4.0) kcal/mol. The study on the behaviour of sisomicin in solutions with different pH values under the environmental conditions and in the atmosphere of nitrogen showed that at low pH values the inactivation was mainly determined by hydrolysis of the glycoside bond. Formation of coloured compounds did not include the oxidation reaction. At pH about 7.0 oxidation of the antibiotic or of the products of its degradation with respect to the double bond played a significant role in the inactivation and formation of the coloured substances.

[The concentration of methane and trace organic admixtures in the air expired by submariners during a dive simulation in a hyperbaric chamber].

The article describes the procedure of determining methane and some organic trace elements in expired air during simulated "dive" in a hyperbaric chamber. Partial pressures of methane breathed out by divers in 29 experiments are reported. Concentrations of 8 trace organic components have been measured in the expired air of two divers. The results obtained show that expired methane increases by 3-10 times during simulated descent down to 80-115 m.

[Experimental study of the dynamics of absorption of noxious admixtures in hermetically sealed chambers on sorbents in normal and elevated gas pressure].

In the hyperbaric chamber with the help of chromatographic, spectrophotometric and gravimetric methods the dynamics of the sorption of the volatile chemical matters (11 substances) on the activated charcoal and ion exchange fibrous material has been investigated. By the 30 kg/cm2 (He) the purifying speed of the gas environment from the chemical matters was less, than by the 1 kg/cm2, and the saturation state of the sorbents in the hyperbaric conditions was coming late. The change of the external gas pressure change a parameters of the volatile matters diffusion in the gas environment and sorbents, but do not influence on the qualitative character of the sorption in the homological line of the investigated matters.

[Admixtures present in antitoxic horse sera and pepsin preparations].

Antitoxic therapeutic sera produced by the method "Diaferm-3" (devised at the Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences) are contaminated in the process of production with group-specific substances and extraneous enzymes contained in crude preparations of swine pepsin. These ballast substances have a negative influence on the process of purification and the stability of antitoxin during the storage of the sera and constitute one of the reasons of their high reactogenicity.

[Retrospective estimation of the frequency of heterozygous beta-thalassemia in the Crimean Tatar population. Estimation of gene frequency in the ancestral population based on mixed population data with a known admixture rate].

Results of the maximum-likelihood estimation of heterozygous beta-thalassemia frequency in the Crimean Tartar ancestral population obtained by evaluating the gametic contribution of Uzbeks to the Crimean Tartar ethnic group are presented. The computing algorithm is given, and reliability of the obtained results is discussed.
