[Continuity and changes of medical varieties of rhizoma Corydalis in modern and ancient times].

Through systematic textual research on Bencao, it is definite that the initial medical variety of Rhizoma Corydalis was Corydalis tartschaninovii produced in the northeast of China. After the Ming Dynasty, it was replaced gradually by the cultivated variety in Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province. At present, Corydalis turtschaninovii should be the variety of first choice among the medical resources of Rhizoma Corydalis.

Resources of the three drugs were investigated and their main species were found out.

Coral reefs, forests, and thermal vents: the worldwide exploration of nature for novel antitumor agents.

Nature has been a source of medicinal treatments for thousands of years, and plant-based systems continue to play an essential role in the primary health care of 80% of the world's population. Nature has provided many of the effective anticancer agents in current use, such as the microbially derived drugs, dactinomycin, bleomycin, and doxorubicin, and the plant-derived drugs vinblastine, irinotecan, topotecan, etoposide, and paclitaxel. The search for novel antitumor agents from natural sources continues with botanists, marine biologists, and microbiologists teaming up with chemists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, and clinicians in the investigation of coral reefs, rainforests, and deep subsurface thermal vents for novel bioactive compounds. The wealth of anticancer drugs of natural origin and critical aspects of the ongoing discovery and development process are discussed.

[Textual studies on shangzhou zhiqiao fructus Aurantii].

The original plant of Shangzhou Zhiqiao, the best among the species of Zhiqino, is confirmed as Citrus aurantium rather than Poncirus trifolia in this paper based on the description and drawings of Zhiqiao in (Bencao Gangmu) by Li Shizhen in the 16th rentury, samples from Shangzhou(Shanxi Province), and the cold-warm period of historical climate in the local area, which is believed to be related to the distribution of C. aurantium in Shangzhou. However, P.trifolia has often been confused with C. aurantium by some herbalists.
