STR data for the AmPFlSTR SGM plus from a regional population of Austria.

Allele frequencies for 10 microsatellite loci--D3S1358, vWA, D16S539, D2S1338, D19S433, THO1, FGA, D8S1179, D21S11 and D18S51--were determined in an Austrian Caucasian population sample from Vienna using the AmpFlSTR SGM plus amplification kit (Applied Biosystems). This study was done on a population sample of 609 unrelated individuals from the city of Vienna.

STR data for the AmpFlSTR profiler plus loci from Macau (China).

Allele frequencies for the nine STRs included in the AmpFlSTR profiler plus kit (D3S1358, VWA, FGA, D8S1179, D21S11, D18S51, D5S818, D13S317 and D7S820) were estimated from a sample of 87 unrelated individuals living in the region of Macau, a territory located in the southeastern coast of China.

STR data for the SGM Plus loci from three Indonesian populations.

Allele frequencies for the 10 STRs included in the AmpFLSTR SGM Plus (Applied Biosytems) amplification kit were obtained from three populations in the Indonesian archipelago. Here, 173 unrelated Indonesian individuals were sampled, of which 44 were from the Island of Sulawesi, 44 from Sumatra and 85 from Java.

16 X-chromosome STR loci frequency data from a German population.

Allele frequencies for 16 X-linked STRs, suitable for forensic purposes, were obtained from a sample of unrelated German individuals (male and female). The presented data show also repeat sequence structures and statistic parameters describing there information content.

Y-chromosomal STR haplotypes in three major population groups in Bulgaria.

A total of 280 unrelated males from the three largest population groups in Bulgaria: Bulgarians, Bulgarian Turks and Gypsies, were analyzed for seven Y-chromosome STRs (DYS19, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392 and DYS393). Comparison of the allele frequency distributions revealed significant differences between the three ethnic groups which were confirmed with haplotype analysis. This permits us to suggest that population differentiation should be taken into account in forensic case analysis and paternity testing in Bulgaria.

Y-chromosome STR haplotypes in a southwest Spain population sample.

The Y-chromosome polymorphism of eight STRs (DYS19, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392; DYS393, DYS385) were studied in 111 unrelated individuals from the population of southwest Spain. The most common haplotype was shared by 3.6% of the sample, while 99 haplotypes were unique. The gene diversity was 0.9977.

Somatic mutations at STR loci--a reason for three-allele pattern and mosaicism.

Two families are analysed in which one of the parents exhibited a three-allele pattern at the ACTBP2 locus. Since the alleles were obviously segregated independently to the children, a generalised mosaicism must be assumed involving at least two tissues in one of them and at least four tissues in the other one. The intensity of the PCR amplified alleles in both three-allele individuals indicate an occurrence in a very early embryonic stage. Occurrence was most probably due to a single step mutation in both cases. Forensic implications would include paternity testing as well as stain analysis.

STR data for the AmpFlSTR SGM Plus from Marmara region of Turkey.

Allele frequencies of the 10 STRs loci (D16S539, D2S1338, D3S1358, vWA, D18S51, D21S11, D8S1179, D19S433, FGA, THO1) included in the AmpFlSTR SGM Plus kit (PE Applied Biosystems) were obtained from a sample of 173 unrelated individuals in Marmara region of Turkey.
