35 patients with unclassified urogenital malformations were subjected to clinical and cytogenetic examination. Chromosome aberrations of the mosaicism type were found in 3 women. They were as follows: 45,X/46,XX(2); 45, X/46, XX/47, XXX(1). Moreover, two patients had identical pericentric inversions of chromosome 9: 46, XX, inv. (9) (p13; q13) and 3 patients had microvariants of acrocentric chromosomes. Despite the presence of chromosome anomalies and morphological variants of chromosomes in the examined patients, the comparison of the clinical and cytogenetic data suggests the multifactorial nature of urogenital malformation.
Concentration of tetracycline, doxicyclin and tarivide was studied in blood serum, urine and immediately in the impaired focus, in uterine tube tissue to elucidate the factors responsible for low therapeutic efficiency of drugs involved in treatment of inflammatory diseases of women urogenital system. Content of tetracycline, detected in the patients blood and urine, varied within the limits 0.02-0.12 microgram/ml and 0.003-0.136 microgram/ml, respectively, depending on the period of administration of therapeutic doses of the antibiotic. At the same time, in uterine tube tissue concentration of tetracycline was only slightly increased and constituted 0.014 microgram/ml which was distinctly lower than the minimal inhibitory content for the antibiotic. Similar results were obtained in studies of tarivide concentrations. Both morphofunctional impairments of uterine tubes and deficiency of antibiotics in the impaired focus were responsible for inadequate treatment of women with infertility of inflammatory genesis.
Results indicate that the average age of first consumption of alcohol by juveniles is in direct and to a certain degree in "competent" dependence on some external parameters: education, family position and oth. Early alcohol "start" produces the most negative effect on the subsequent low professional-social status and also on the progression of alcoholism an essentially "enhances" their admission to venereal clinics for specific diseases of the urogenital system.

According to the literature the non-Hodgkin-lymphoma is involving the kidney and its capsule, the hilus of the kidney and the retroperitoneal space in some instances. Today one assumes that the disease is originating unifocally therefore one can achieve a healing or complete remission by radical surgery when one or both kidneys or a testicle are involved. Prior to this generalised disease must be ruled out. Two cases are reported where one or both kidneys were involved showing long survival time or cure. The prognosis, however, is very poor when the urogenital system is included in systemic forms of non-Hodgkin-lymphoma.

In male tammar wallabies, the scrotum is the first organ to become sexually differentiated, 4-5 days before birth (day 22 of gestation). This is followed by enlargement of the gubernaculum and processus vaginalis one day before birth. However the indifferent gonad does not show any signs of testicular cord formation or androgen production until later, at around the time of birth; this is more pronounced at 2 days post-partum (p.p.), when the testis takes on a characteristic rounded appearance. Primordial germ cells proliferate throughout the testis at this time, although the testis does not become significantly heavier than the ovary until around 80 days p.p.. In females, the appearance of the mammary glands is the first sign of sexual differentiation 4-5 days before birth. The indifferent gonad first shows signs of developing an ovarian cortex and medulla 7 days after birth. The migrating germ cells are confined to the cortex, and first start to enter meiosis about 25 days after birth. The Wolffian (mesonephric) ducts are patent to the urogenital sinus in fetuses at day 21 of gestation. In the female they have started to regress by 10 days p.p. and only rudiments remain by day 25 p.p.. The Müllerian (paramesonephric) ducts develop adjacent to the cranial pole of the mesonephros at about day 25 of gestation and grow caudally to meet the urogenital sinus between days 2 and 7 p.p.. The Müllerian duct of the female develops a prominent ostium abdominale by day 9 p.p., but this structure has completely regressed in males by day 13 p.p.. The testis and ovary both migrate caudally, together with the adjacent mesonephros, at about day 10 p.p.. The ovaries remain around the level of lumbar vertebra 4 after about day 7 p.p., while the testes continue to descend. The testes enter the internal inguinal ring at about day 25 p.p., about the time that prostatic buds first appear in the urogenital sinus, and are in the inguinal canal from days 25 to 36 p.p.. They enter the scrotum at around day 36 p.p., and testicular descent is complete by days 65-72 p.p.. Melanin develops in the tunica vaginalis 72 days after birth. The overall development of the urogenital system in this marsupial is similar to that of eutherians but the sequence of events differs, with some aspects of genital differentiation preceding gonadal differentiation, apparently because they are directly controlled by X-linked genes, rather than indirectly controlled by gonadal steroids.
Report is given of clinical experiences gained with the new developed semi-syntheticpenicillin "Spectacillin" on 75 patients suffering from an urological disease. The drug has been applied for therapy of acute and chronic forms of inflammations of the bladder and the urethra, additionally the prostatitis, the epididymitis, but first of all the pyelonephritis (caused bacterially). Within the germ spectrum of these diseases, germs of the coli-type, streptococcus faecalis (enterococcus), staphylococcus aureus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, proteus, pseudomonas and aerobacter were found. Patients with acute/subacute diseases have been treated 8 to 9 days (3-4 grams per day) on an average; in case of chronic diseases, the patients received initially 1 gram a day and thereupon during 3 to 4 weeks 3 to 4 grams per day. The well-succeeded results have been documentated by means of the clinical course, the germ-elimination and the laboratory findings. The exanthematous quote may be demonstrated as remarkably low, considering the good universal compatibility of the substance. For this reason "Spectacillin" not finally is suitable for treatment of acute and chronic infections of the urogenital systems.

We analyzed the frequency of isolation of individual fungal species in the samples of urine, vaginal and cervical swabs from 107 patients (72% women and 28% men) aged 16-82 years, who were treated in primary care for cystitis, vulvovaginitis, and cervicitis. The samples were analyzed at the Microbiological Laboratory of Zagreb Institute of Public Health, Croatia, between September 1, 2002 and June 31, 2003. Eight species of yeast were isolated from the samples. Candida (C.) albicans, C. glabrata, and C. krusei were the most common isolates, with the frequency of 61.7%, 10.3% and 8.4%, respectively. Other species (C. guilliermondii, C. famata, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis, and C. kefyr) were less frequently isolated, between 0.9% and 7.5%. In women, the frequency of isolation of C. albicans species from urine samples ranged from 83.3% to 30.8%, and from uterine cervical swabs from 85.7% to 50%, showing a decreasing trend with patients' age. The frequency of C. albicans isolates from vaginal swabs was equal in younger (<30 years) and older women (ł51 years), but twice less frequent in middle-aged women. In men, the frequency of C. albicans species isolated from urine samples decreased with age from 100% to 52.4%. In the 107 analyzed samples with positive fungal culture, yeast isolations were significantly more frequent than pure culture (93.5%) and had a larger number of colony counts (57%). This suggested that these yeast species might have a pathogenic role in the causation of urogenital system infections.
To analyse the results of treatment of isolated and concomitant urogenital injuries, a retrospective analysis was made of 608 case histories for patients treated in 1986-2000. Of them, 530 patients were males, 78 were females, the age ranged from 16 to 70 years, most of the patients were 20 to 50 (71.2%) years of age. Most frequently the injury was inflicted by beating. Fall from the height, transport accidents ranked second among the causes of injury (17 and 14.3%, respectively). Stab and gunshot injuries occurred in 4.4 and 8% cases, respectively. Ultrasound and x-ray methods were employed for examination. An isolated injury was found in 481 patients, the rest had urogenital injury and skeletal (53%), craniocerebral (25%), abdominal (20%) lesions. 29 patients had a severe concomitant wound: urogenital injury combined with abdominal, skeletal, cranial lesions. Surgery was performed in 267 patients. The rest patients received conservative treatment. Most of the operations were made on the kidney and urinary bladder because of rupture. In some patients these interventions were conducted during laparotomy and were combined with abdominal intervention (44 cases). 25 patients with the compound injury underwent 2-stage operations. 552 patients were cured. 56 (9.2%) lethal outcomes were due to progression of traumatic shock. This low percent of lethality may be explained by an optimal choice of treatment policy in the above patients.
