[MRI in funicular myelosis].

The MRI morphology in combined subacute degeneration has only rarely been reported. We describe two patients suffering from subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord on the basis of a deficiency of vitamin B12. In both patients characteristic hyperintense areas on T2-weighted images in the posterior columns of the cervical and thoracic cord without contrast enhancement were demonstrated by MRI.

[Funicular myelosis--an unusual case of unilateral destruction of the tarsus].

The presentation includes an unusual destruction of the tarsus of a 64 year old patient with subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord caused by chronical vitamin-B12-deficiency. This case report will be shown a systemical disease as a possible cause of localized bone-destruction in differentialdiagnosis.
