Pulmonary diffusing capacity (DLCO) has been measured at 3500 m in highlander and lowlander subjects. DLCO is more elevated in highlanders than in lowlanders. In these subjects, a transient increase of DLCO is observed during the first hours of hypoxia which is related to transient changes in pulmonary circulation.

As indicated by a theophylline administration previously to a norepinephrine infusion, the nonshivering thermogenesis does not seem to be mediated by the cyclic AMP system in constant cold acclimated rats, in opposite to rats acclimated to discontinuous cold. However, in that last thermal condition, the cyclic AMP mediation was not observed in the brown adipose tissue and in the liver.
Exposure of human body to high altitude environment initiate reaction which could be result whether of adaptation or of exhaustion. The purpose is to establish the human body environment which enables regeneration of own cells. Therefore, mechanism of reestablishment of prevention and recognition of symptoms and signs of insufficient adaptability on high altitude are of great interest for clinical and other medical investigators. Special position in research refers on cardiovascular system. Results show, according to effect of only one factor-catecholamines, that in course of physical training on high altitude, could be expected, cardiac muscle hypertrophy. It is proved, that under special circumstances catecholamines stimulate synthesis of proteins what enables faster regeneration of the cells. However, under conditions of myocardial ischemia, uncontrolled loading of these patients could lead to deterioration of heart function appearance of cardiac insufficiency.

The territorial behaviour of hamadryas baboon troop was studied from November 1984 up to February 1986. The observations were carried out from the time of animals' awakening till their arrangement for a night sleep using the method of daily tracking with recording to behavioural action frequency for all visible animals with definite intervals. It has been established that the size of habitat ranges depends on food resources. The travels across the territory has a seasonal nature.
Cold-acclimated rats with an increased resistance against intensive cold, differ from ordinary animals by increased beta 1- and decreased alpha 2-adrenoreactivity in ordinary conditions; their beta 1-adrenoreactive systems preserve sensitivity at intensive cold exposure (up to hypothermia below 25 degrees C), whereas the sensitivity of their alpha 2-adrenoreactive systems declines more rapidly (up to a moderate hypothermia--33-34 degrees C). The data obtained suggest the described shifts to be important for essential increase in general resistance against acute intensive cold exposure in rats.
