[Use of a logical probability method for evaluating the clinical indices in fascioliasis of cattle].

The possibility of helminthiasis diagnosis with the use of nonparametric models of statistic analysis was checked. The method resolves itself into the estimation of the degree of informativeness of characters chosen for the description of elements of phenomena, for the isolation of a certain complex of most informative characters and the construction of a system of standards with the use of EC. The level of informativeness of 38 haematological and clinical indices was tested. The indices characterizing the contents of relating to stab neutrophils and microlymphocytes in blood were found to possess the highest informativeness while the contents of erythrocytes, leucocytes, eosinophiles and haemoglobin--the lesser one. Indices characterizing the contents of haemocytes, basophils and monocytes as well as ESR possess low and average informativeness. The level of identification of objects in training samplings was rather high and reached in most cases 100%.

[Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in hepatic fascioliasis].

We present a 60 years old female with a history of upper right quadrant pain, fever and eosinophily. We made the diagnosis of fasciolasis on clinical, parasitology studies and radiological findings. In the endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) we found the bile duct of normal caliber, but with many filling defects. Fasciola eggs were found in the bile. This is the first case with endoscopic retrograde cholanglopancreatography and the fourth case of fasciolasis in Venezuela.

[Immunodiagnosis of Fasciola gigantica fascioliasis by ELISA technique in Senegal. Preliminary observations in 2 lambs].

The purpose of this work was to investigate the use of the ELISA test for the diagnosis of fasciolosis (Fasciola gigantica) in sheep, in Senegal, using Fasciola gigantica metabolic excretion-secretion products as antigens. Coprological analysis results were negative until the fourteenth week following infection; using the ELISA test, the first anti-Fasciola gigantica antibodies can be detected as early as the fourth week following infection.
