The title compound, [Cu4Cl6O(C4H7NS)4], was obtained by the reaction of CuCl2*2H2O with 2-methyl-2-thiazoline in methanol. The complex has twofold crystallographic symmetry and contains a tetrahedron of four Cu(II) atoms coordinating a central mu4-O atom, with the six edges of the tetrahedron bridged by Cl atoms. Distance ranges are Cu-O 1.917 (4)-1.920 (4) and Cu-Cl 2.370 (2)-2.445 (2) A.
In the title compound, C(24)H(17)NO(2)S, the dioxine and thiazoline rings are distorted from planarity towards a half-chair and an envelope conformation, respectively. The configurations of the dioxine ring, the thiazoline ring and the attached phenyl ring are conditioned by the sp(3) state of the two bridgehead C atoms. The phenanthrene system is nearly coplanar with the dioxine ring, while the attached phenyl ring is orthogonal to the thiazoline ring.
The molecule of the title compound, C(17)H(17)N(5)O(2)S, consists of three pi systems, viz. two aromatic rings and the triazene moiety, which are mutually deconjugated although coplanar. The n-butyl chain is roughly perpendicular to the molecular plane, with the terminal methylene and methyl groups disordered between two equally populated positions. The molecules in the crystal associate in an antiparallel fashion, forming dimers across the centre of symmetry, the principal intradimer interaction being stacking of the pi-electron portions of the molecules.
Crystals of the title compound, [Cr(C4H5NO4)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)]Cl.H2O, consist of Cr(III) complex cations, Cl- counter-ions and lattice water molecules. The complex cation assumes an octahedral coordination geometry, formed by a tridentate iminodiacetate dianion (IDA), a diaminobithiazole (DABT) molecule and a water molecule. The planar DABT group chelates the Cr(III) ion with normal Cr-N distances [2.0574 (17) and 2.0598 (17) A], but the DABT molecule is inclined to the coordination plane by a dihedral angle of 17.23 (7) degrees. In the monodentate carboxylate groups of the IDA ion, the coordinated C-O bonds [1.288 (3) and 1.284 (3) A] are much longer than the uncoordinated C-O bonds [1.222 (3) and 1.225 (3) A].
The title compound, [VO(SO(4))(C(6)H(6)N(4)S(2))(H(2)O)(2)].4H(2)O, displays a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The 2,2'-diamino-4,4'-bithiazole ligand is present in the usual chelating bidentate mode. The sulfate ligand coordinates in a monodentate fashion to the V atom. A large displacement of the V atom from the equatorial plane towards the oxo group correlates with the strong V=O double bond. In the crystal structure, a three-dimensional supramolecular network is formed by hydrogen bonds.
The title compound, C24H26BrN3OS, crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1, with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The molecules adopt an E geometry about the azomethine C=N double bond. The structure is stabilized as dimers by N-H...N hydrogen bonding. C-H...pi and pi-pi interactions are also effective in the crystal packing.

Thiazolo[3,2-a]thieno[3,2-d]-, [3,4-d]- and [2,3-d]pyrimidin-5-one derivatives (6, 11 and 16), and polymethylene condensed thieno[3,2-d]-, [3,4-d]- and [2,3-d]pyrimidin-5-one derivatives (19-21), in which the oxygen atom of the oxazolidine moiety in 3 was replaced by a sulfur atom or methylene groups, were synthesized and evaluated for gastric antisecretory activity in pylorus-ligated rats. The structure-activity relationships of these compounds are discussed.
Irradiation of acetonitrile solutions of the bis-crown ether E,E-2,7-bis[2-(6,7,9,10,12,13,15,16-octahydro-5,8,11,14,17-pentaoxabenzocyclopentadecen-2-yl)vinyl]-benzo[1,2-d;3,4-d']bisthiazole (hereafter, 1) gives efficient E --> Z photoisomerization (initial phi(trans --> cis) = 0.48), leading to lambda(exc)-dependent quasi-photostationary states composed primarily of E,Z and E,E isomer mixtures. Further irradiation gives [2 + 2]-cycloadducts of 1. In the presence of Ba2+ ions, essentially quantitative formation of 2:2 complexes, 1(2) x (Ba2+)2 controls the photochemical outcome. E --> Z photoisomerization of the ligand is entirely suppressed and efficient intramolecular [2 + 2]-photocycloaddition in the complexes leads to cyclobutane dimers of 1 (phiCB = 0.26). The reactivity of 1 in the presence of Mg2+ ions for which 1:2 complex formation dominates gives both cis-trans photoisomerization and enhanced photocycloaddition.
A single dose of Tetramisole, 2.5 mg/kg body weight, was given to the infected cases of intestinal parasites. The number of cases were: Ascaris lumbriocides 96, hookworm 16, Trichostrongylus orientalis 10, Trichocephalus trichiurus 114 and Clonorchis sinensis 19. No dietary restriction before and after the administration of Tetramisole was required. 1. In Ascaris infection the egg negative conversion rate and the egg reduction rate were 92.7 per cent and 99.5 per cent, respectively. 2. In Trichostrongylus orientalis infections, 9 out of 10 cases were resulted egg negative after the single dose of Tetramisole, and hookworm, 12 out of 16 administered showed egg negative. However, there were no appreciable effectiveness to the cases of Trichocephalus trichiurus and Clonorchis sinensis. 3. Mild and transient side effects were noted in 75 cases (54.5%) out of 140 cases. The main symptoms were dizziness (25.5%), anorexia (25.5%), abdominal pain (18.6%), diarrhea (16.6%), headache (15.2%), nausea (14.4%) and fever (11.0%). From the above results, it is anticipated that Tetramisole is an effective anthelminthic for elimination of Ascaris, Trichostrongylus and hookworm.

As a part of our research on the synthesis of cephalosporins bearing condensed-heterocyclic azolium groups at the 3 position in the cephalosporin nucleus, we describe herein the synthesis of 7 beta-[2-(2-amino-5-halogeno-, methylthio-, methylsulfinyl-, methylsulfonyl- and sulfothiazol-4-yl)-2(Z)-alkoxyiminoacetamido] cephalosporins and their antibacterial activity. Among the compounds prepared, 7 beta-[2-(2-amino-5-chlorothiazol-4-yl)-2(Z)- methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-(imidazo[1,5-a]-pyridinium-1-yl)methyl-3-cephem -4-carboxylate (14) showed good antibacterial activity against both Staphylococcus aureus including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, whereas the antibacterial activity against other Gram-negative bacteria was a slightly lower than that of 7 beta-[2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2(Z)-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-(im ida zo [1,2-a]pyridinium (I-1) and imidazo[1,5-a]pyridinium (I-4)-1-yl)methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylates.
