[Infection hazards and complications following the use of IUDs].

Own experiences on IUD-complications especially irregular bleedings and infections underline that modern plastic intrauterine devices are second-rate contraceptives. Compared to hormonal contraceptive drugs intrauterine devices have a higher pregnancy risk and increased rates of infections. Therefore the IUD is in our opinion not suited primary contraceptive method used without indication. Because of the relatively often occurring ascendant genital infections the application of intrauterine devices should not be carried out in nulliparae.

[Laparoscopic tubal sterilisation using Yoon's rings. The technique and psychological effects].

So long as certain contra-indications are observed it had been found that the application of Yoon's rings in the isthmial region of the fallopian tube is an efficient way of sterilising women. It is easy and devoid of major operative or post-operative complications. The authors report 245 cases that were treated in a University Hospital Centre. This technique had been particularly well received from the psychological aspect, as has been shown by an enquiry that we conducted between 6 and 48 months after the procedure in patients in this study.

[Sperm centrifugation in azoospermia?].

In cases of azoospermia especially after vasectomy the investigation of the seminal sediment investigation is necessary. Exclusive on this way it is possible to find some side dispersed spermatozoa. The described case deals with a pregnancy about 48 days following vasectomy. Postoperative the sperm sediment investigation was not performed. In the following judicial hearing the doctor justified himself, that there do'nt exist any special direction in different textbooks of andrology as well as of urology. But this case demonstrates the necessary of the seminal sediment, which is the most important andrological investigation after vasectomy. For this it is not necessary to find special directions, this is common use.
