[A set of equipment for rapid roentgenography based on diffusion photographic materials].

The authors describe a set of equipment for x-ray diagnosis based on diffusion photographic material, including an exposure cassette, an outfit for image processing and a portable impulse x-ray device. That the use of the roentgenographic set under outpatient or field conditions holds promise is determined by rapid production of an image, small size and weight of the set, convenience in operation and by the information content of the image obtained.

[Diagnosis value of lateral pharyngeal roentgenography in snoring disease].

In this paper, X-ray findings of the lateral pharynx before uvulopalatopharyngoplasty in 14 cases of snoring disease were studied. The results are as follows. There is less than 5 mm in anterior-posterior airway of pharyngeal cavity (13 cases), and 8 mm (1 case), in diameter. Minimum 2 mm, average 4.4 mm. There is less than 25 mm length of uvula (7 cases), 28-35 mm (7 cases). Minimum 22 mm, average length is 27.9 mm. Shape of uvula is thick and long (12 cases), thick and short 1 case, thin and long 1 case. The etiology, abnormal X-ray finding and X-ray examination of the lateral pharynx, etc. in snoring disease have been discussed.

[Value of roentgenography of the bones of the skull vault and the sella turcica for the prognosis of the effectiveness of the treatment of infertility in patients with hyperandrogenia].

Thorough clinical and roentgenological examinations of the skull were conducted in 83 infertile patients with hyperandrogenism. The parameters of their health status evidenced various degrees of androgenism. The roentgenological picture of their skull and Turkish saddle was significantly different from the normal one. A small and round-shaped pattern of the Turkish saddle was significantly more often documented in the hyperandrogenic females whose infertility treatment was a failure. These prognostic criteria should be considered when the practicability of the treatment for this pattern of infertility is discussed.
