[First case of cutaneous plasmocytoma in Africa].

Cutaneous plasmacytoma are dermo-hypodermic plasmacytic infiltrations. Occurrence is quite rare. Primary plasmacytoma and metastatic plasmacytoma in myeloma are distinguished. Firm, asymptomatic unique or multiple nodules are the common clinical form. We report the first african case of cutaneous plasmacytoma occurring in an IgG myeloma. It was a 73 year-old man with history of IgG myeloma, stade III of Durie and Salmon classification. At his third chemotherapy, he presented a pre-stemal nodule growing since 15 days. Histologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of cutaneous plasmacytoma. One months later news nodules and cranial lacunas were observed. It is important for the clinician to well known this complication of myeloma because of its bad prognosis. Moreover it should make modify the therapeutic protocol, if it's possible.

[Solitary extramedullary plasmocytoma of the nasal cavity].

A case of Extramedullary Plasmacytoma of nasopharynx is reported in a 41 years old man. The presenting symptom was bilateral nasal obstruction. Multiple Myeloma was excluded. The treatment was surgical excision and postsurgical radiotherapy. At present the patient is well.

[Extramedullary plasmocytoma. Description of 2 cases with localization in the vocal cords].

The authors describe two cases of extramedullary plasmacytoma with localization to the vocal cord. They underline: the rarity of the laryngeal involvement, the different histogenetic, prognostical and therapeutical aspects as regards solitary plasmacytoma and the peculiarity of the second case where after 15 years the extramedullary plasmacytoma recurred in the same field without any systemic spread.

[Solitary extramedullary plasmocytoma of the nasal fossa and paranasal sinuses].

The clinical and morphological features of two patients with solitary extramedullary plasmacytomas of paranasal sinus and nasal cavity are presented. Patients only developed local symptomatology without features of multiple myeloma. They were treated with surgical excision and local radiotherapy. This is the treatment of choice recommended for these localized tumors. Microscopically, one tumor contained a well-differentiated plasma cell population, and the other was made up immature cells. Cytoplasmic staining for IgG was showed in both tumors for immunoperoxidase studies. However, no serum monoclone was detected at the time of diagnosis nor later. Currently, they are alive without evidence of disease 20 and 16 months, respectively, after treatment.

XC-cell fusion induced by murine plasmocytoma cell. III. RNA gene expression correlated to syncytium formation.

The MF2 strain, a mouse myeloma derived cell line, was found to continuously produce C-type viral particles when maintained in tissue-culture. These cells when cultured in an ascitic form by injection to Balb/c mice lost this property. The ability to induce syncytia by cocultivation of the MF2 cell with XC-cells was shown to be related to the viral production. A DNA complementary to viral 70 S RNA was synthesized using the viral reverse-transcriptase endogenous activity. The quality of the probe is discussed and the expression of the viral genome among cellular poly A rich RNA varied concomitently to the syncytium inducing ability as evidenced by molecular hybridization experiments.

[A case of secondary syphilis simulating plasmocytoma].

A clinically unclear case is described of stomatitis with a long duration in a male of 28. Exfoliations in the region of the mouth angle were observed resembling pemphigus vegetans. Biopsy examination revealed a thick plasma cell infiltration which was considered to be an extramedullary plasmacytoma. However, a polyclonal composition of plasmacytes was found immunomorphologically producing immunoglobulins A, M and G with predominant production of IgG. This allowed rejection of neoplastic nature of the infiltrate, confirming its inflammatory origin and specific character. Serological tests (Wassermann, immunofluorescence test, in vitro immobilization test) confirmed the diagnosis of secondary recurring syphilis. Differential diagnosis of plasma-cell syphilid of skin and mucosal extramedullary plasmacytoma is under discussion.

[Solitary plasmocytoma of the larynx].

Solitary plasmacytoma involving the larynx is very rare. To the best of our knowledge, there are only 73 cases reported in the world literature. The clinical picture was chronic cough, hoarseness and discrete dysphagia. Complete work-up to rule out systemic evidence of plasmacytoma is necessary. Microscopically, solitary plasmacytoma must also be distinguished from plasma cell granuloma.

[Solitary extramedullary plasmocytoma of the nasal cavity].

It is described a case of solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma of nasal cavities. It's also made a review of the similar cases published about this infrequent but not extraordinary tumour to establish his diagnostic, prognosis and treatment.
