56 wine samples were analysed to determine their content of Li, K and Rb. These samples came from 28 species of vine grown on two plots of land, each of which had different pedo-climatic characteristics. The data collected were elaborated using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA); this statistical approach showed that it was possible to net differentiate both the soil where the different species of vines were grown and the colour of wines. The variable "species of vine nationality", instead, has not been discriminated by LDA. These results point out that it is possible to identify the place of origin of wines and that the "environment" variable prevails over the others, using the content of Li, K and Rb.

In this paper, the Raman and difference FTIR spectra of NTO crystal, NTO solutions at different pH and saturated aqueous solution of Rb(NTO) x H2O have been studied. The determined structure of crystal suggests that the metal ion with oxygen and nitrogen atoms of [chemical structure see text] C-N, [chemical structure see text] C-NO2, [chemical structure see text] C=O and H2O formed bonds. The highest characterization peaks of Raman and FTIR spectra show that [chemical structure see text] C-NO2, [chemical structure see text] C=O and [chemical structure see text] C-N of NTO- formed week coordination bonds. The vibration spectra of saturation solution basically accord with those of the crystal. The bonds of saturation solution of the coordination compound have not changed. Therefore, the different vibration spectra of the saturation water solution of Rb (NTO) x H2O can be explicated by the formation of the bonds in crystal. The coordination compound formation mechanism of metal ion with NTO in alkali aqueous solution is discussed.

The microsphere method has been widely used for blood flow measurements in normal and tumour tissues. The microsphere method was evaluated for repeated measurements of cardiac output and regional blood flow in anesthetised rats and in anesthetised rats given noradrenalin and thereby having altered haemodynamics with special emphasis on liver blood flow. Comparing the microsphere method with the soluble indicator method (86Rubidium) gave equal cardiac output values. The liver blood flow was lower and the spleen blood flow was higher with the microsphere method. Two microsphere injections at 10 min intervals were performed on anesthetised rats. In one group 817 +/- 10(3) microspheres were injected each time, in a second group 436 +/- 10(3) and in a third noradrenalin was added and then 430 +/- 10(3) microspheres injected twice. There was good reproducibility for cardiac output and for most organ and tissue blood flows between first and second microsphere injection. No influence on arterial liver blood flow was seen. A blood pressure fall and a decreased heart rate was registered after the first injection in the group given 817 x 10(3) spheres. There was also a blood pressure fall in the group given noradrenalin after the first microsphere injection. The microsphere method with two injections of 436 x 10(3) microspheres seems adequate to use in arterial blood flow studies of the liver and simultaneous cardiac output measurements.
