[Adhesion molecules LFA-1(CD-11a), Mac-1(CD-11b) of t-lymphocytes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and blood in patients with chronic respiratory tract disease].

Adhesion molecules play an important role in inflammatory processes and influence on recruitment of effector cells. The aim of our study was to assess the percentage of T-lymphocytes expressing LFA-1, Mac-1 and ICAM-1 in bronchoalveolar fluid (BALF) and blood of patients with sarcoidosis, atopic bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis. The reference group consisted of patients with haemoptysis or suspected of having bronchial carcinoma. Expression of adhesion molecules was revealed by /APAAP/ alkaline phosphatase anti alkaline phosphatase method. The highest percentage of lymphocytes expressing all adhesions molecules in BALF and blood was observed in patients with chronic bronchitis. Reductions of T-cells in BALF of patients with bronchial asthma and sarcoidosis may reflect of their direct binding in inflammatory sites. This studies confirm the involvement of adhesion molecules in maintenance of chronic inflammatory processes in the respiratory tract.

[Carboxylic acid anhydrides as a cause for occupational allergic respiratory tract diseases in the handling of epoxy resins].

Low molecular weight chemicals like anhydrides of dicarboxylic acids, capable of reaction with human serum proteins and of formation of hapten-carrier conjugates, can produce pathogenic immunoreactions. It was proved, that the observed diseases can also be of allergic genesis after the exposure to these noxae of the respiratory tract with mainly irritating effect.

[Treatment of acute respiratory tract diseases in cattle with Bisolvon in combination with either enrofloxacin, cefquinome, ceftiofur or florfenicol].

The purpose of the present clinical studies was to determine the clinical efficacy of a combined parenteral and oral treatment with Bisolvon in combination with antibiotics in bovines suffering from acute respiratory disease. To this end four trials were conducted in respiratory diseased bovines; a total of 619 animals were evaluated. The animals were randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups within each study and were treated either with enrofloxacin, cefquinome, ceftiofur or florfenicol. The Bisolvon group was additionally treated with Bisolvon over 5 consecutive days. Daily clinical examinations were carried out over a period of 6 days. The clinical respiratory score, the primary parameter, representing a summation of the scoring points for the parameters respiratory rate, nasal discharge, spontaneous coughing, lung sounds and grade of dyspnoea and the clinical index score, which additionally included the general parameters fever, demeanour and feed intake, were significantly lower in the Bisolvon groups compared to the controls at all examinations after initiation of therapy in all trials with the exception of day 2 in one study. Lower values correspond to a less severe clinical condition. This consistent result as well as the evaluation of the single parameters are indicative of an acceleration of the recovery of the animals additionally treated with Bisolvon.
