[Indices of sympathetic neurocyte transcription and the survival indices of fractionally and partially chemically sympathectomized rats against a background of atsefen use].

Transcription in sympathetic neurocytes of ageing (22 months) normally developing rats, partially sympathectomized by guanethidine, was studied with autoradiography. Beginning with the age of 12 months some experimental animals were given daily dose of 1 mg/ml of geroprotector, atsefen (centrophenoxine), in water solution. The time-course of death rate in animals aged 12-30 months was studied as well. A positive dose-dependent relationship between some ageing symptoms of sympathetic neurocytes of sympathectomized animals and their maximum life span was shown. Geroprotector atsefen were found to inhibit some ageing processes in sympathetic nerve cells, their maximum life span increasing simultaneously.

[Normal values of various biochemical indicators in lowland black-white dairy cows from the government sector of the Gdańsk Coast. III. Changes in those indicators during feeding seasons and in consecutive months and years].

In six consecutive feeding seasons the results of tests of biochemical parameters from 5329 cows were estimated. Besides, the parameters from 7229 cows for the consecutive calendar months and years in the period of 1973-1977 were evaluated. It was established that the cyclic seasonal changes were showed only by levels of proteins, sodium, magnesium and calcium. In the months from May to August a decrease of glucose level, an increase of total protein and urea levels as well as a low level of sodium existed. The values of the rest parameters changed irregularly, what ordered to be cautious in a drawing of conclusions on the basis of investigations performed in short periods of times. In particular seasons and years, such phenomena as hypoglycemia, hyperproteinemia, increased level of urea, hypochloremia, hypopotassemia, hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia and hypophosphoremia could exist irregularly.

[Effect of an operation on the immunoreactivity indices, their postoperative dynamics and the effect of 3-HAA-antigen on these indices in patients with gastrointestinal tumors].

The following parameters were studied in cases of gastrointestinal tumors: 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid (3-HAA)-antigen in blood serum; antibodies to 3-HAA-antigen; immunoglobulins G, A and M (after Manchini); 3-HAA-antigen effect on blastogenic reaction of lymphocytes; 3-HAA-antigen effect on leucocyte migration; blood serum effect on cells producing antibodies to ram erythrocytes, and levels of T-lymphocytes and their subpopulations. The studies were conducted before operation, 4-6, 7 and more months after operation. Tumor removal as well as tumor recurrences and metastases were shown to have an effect on the first 4 parameters. 3-HAA-antigen stimulated the formation of specific antibodies, suppressed blastogenic reaction of lymphocytes but failed to affect leucocyte migration significantly.
