[Primary pulmonary lymphoma in the light of functional classification of malignant lymphomas].

A primary pulmonary lymphoma associated with paraproteinemia was observed in a man aged 73. Histologically, the tumour was classed as lymphoplasmocytic lymphoma. No metastases were disclosed at autopsy.

Influence of presensitization with allogeneic lymphoma cells on the growth and response to therapy of radiation-induced lymphomas in mice.

Congenic mice were sensitized with viable H-2-incompatible radiation-induced lymphomas (RIL), challenged with syngeneic RIL and treated with bis-chloroethyl-nitrosourea. Either enhancement or inhibition of RIL was found in presensitized mice, depending on the tumor-host system used.

Lennert's lymphoma (lympho-epithelioid cellular lymphoma).

The authors describe a case of Lennert's lymphoma occurring in a 64-year-old male patient. After a comprehensive examination of the world literature on the disease, clinical and pathologic problems, as well as differential diagnoses from other malignant lymphoid proliferations, are discussed. This is the first observation to be reported in the otorhinolaryngologie literature.

When "lymphoma" is not lymphoma: diagnosing immunoblastic lymphadenopathy.

Immunoblastic lymphadenopathy, a newly described disease, is clinically similar to lymphoma but has a specific histologic picture. It usually does not have malignant potential and is best treated initially by corticosteroid in high doses. Chemotherapy is used when corticosteroid fails or when malignant conversion occurs.

A note on the so-called Lennert's lymphoma (lympho epithelioid cellular lymphoma) concerning its disease entity.

Two cases of so-called Lennert's lymphoma, which is characterized by massive infiltrations of focally aggregated epithelioid cells, are presented. Since this lesion was particularly emphasized by LENNERT and MESTDAGH in 1968, the major conflicting issue has been focussed on its precise disease entity whether this is an independent or already-established lymphoproliferative disorder. Based on our experiences, we are rather inclined to regard this lesion to be "a curious histologic variant of an already-established disease entity". In order to investigate its precise disease entity and also in view of a possible significance of the presence of epithelioid histiocytes in the lymph nodes and of tonsillar involvement in relation to immunocompetence of the patients, further accumulation of similar cases is required.
