The study of 64 welders employed at automated work stands in the railway car factory conducted in 1989 and 1990 has shown that the psychomotor efficiency level in the examined workers (except for a few cases) was normal. The psychomotor efficiency of the welders studied depended on their age, work day phase and, to a small degree, on the detected biochemical and toxicological disorders.

The article reports on findings after a suicide committed by being run over by the driving unit of an ICE train in a railway station. After recovering the body a fresh abrasion was found on the right upper abdomen with a minor laceration. Some hours later a circular abrasion mark and zones of contusion were discernible on the trunk. Whereas the integument was largely intact, the spine was severed and inner organs of the trunk were ruptured.

Medical and informational supply of the system liquidating the consequences of accidents concerning the dangerous railway goods was analysed. Emergency cards of dangerous railway goods were described as a new type of medical and technical information. 130 of such cards concerning 567 dangerous railway goods were published in 1984, additional prophylactic sections of emergency cards for 400 substances (goods) were published in 1991. Materials for 1,000 substances are prepared for publishing. Automatic system for information search was proved to have good prospects for the further development and putting into practice on railways.
