Cytotoxicity of lymphocytes, mixed lymphocyte cultures, stimulation with PHA, suppressive activity of cells in vitro and efficacy of the adoptive transfer of cells in vivo were simultaneously investigated in rats bearing tolerated skin allografts. Cells from animals which did not react in MLC were simultaneously hyporeactive when stimulated with PHA. On the other hand, cytotoxicity of lymphocytes did not correlate with their ability to respond to specific antigens in MLC. None of the in vitro tests correlated with the efficacy of the adoptively transferred syngeneic lymphoid cells.

The goal of present investigation was to find the interrelation between the dimensions and shape of ciliary ganlion, its topographic characteristics and skull type. By a method macromicropreparation ciliary ganlion and ciliary plexus from 200 corpses of the adult people were studied. It is established that the ganglion occupies posterior-inferior, intermediate or anterior-superior position in respect to common tendinous ring (Zinn's ligament) and optic nerve, that is associated with certain peculiarities of external structure of ciliary ganlion and ciliary plexus. The posterior-inferior position of the ciliary ganlion and ciliary plexus was associated with a concentrated type of their structure of, while the anterior-superior position was found in the ganglion and plexus with diffuse type of structure. It was also found that posterior-inferior position of the ganlion was typical to brachycephals, while the anterior-superior position was found in dolichocephals. It is suggested that of the ciliary ganlion topography and its external structure type are defined by the peculiarities of localization of neuroblasts, which are the precursors of ciliary ganlion neurons. In their turn, the peculiarities of neuroblast localization, are dictated by the influence of those factors, that determine the development of dolichocephaly or brachycephaly. The absence of sympathetic root in human ciliary ganlion is reported, and in this connection, the description of cavernous nervous plexus is presented in comparison with the data of the literature.

To determine the normal pattern of the short latency visual evoked potentials (SVEP) in clinical diagnosis, in a previous report, the normal responses were classified into the following three types: uniform type, brainstem dominant type and occipital dominant type, according to the strength of the potentials. In the present report the latencies of N40 and P50, which constitute the SVEP, were investigated. In addition, the burst origin of these potentials was investigated using the dipole tracing method for P50 obtained through dynamic topography. Optic nerve potentials of N40 appeared first in the anterior region (from 37.1msec to 40.4msec following the stimulus) after the fourth retinal oscillatory potentials and soon extended to the posterior region (after about 2msec). This potential appeared in approximately about 65%, because of the low amplitude. P50 appeared 45.8-53.6msec after the stimulus about 100% and burst 2-4 times in the same place. Using the dipole tracing method, the origin of P50 was estimated to the near the deep center of the brain, probably around the brainstem. The same results were obtained using dynamic topography.

The contribution of genetic factors to spontaneous level of the sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) has been determined on the basis of the twin method of study. A close relation is shown to exist between the SCE tests in the group of the monozygotic twins which is a result of the common genotype. The SCE test with late BUdR introduction is under rigid genetic control.

In persons of both sex at the age beginning from birth up to 90 years. 275 aortal valves have been investigated. A morphological classification of the valves has been suggested depending on peculiarities of their structure and main dimentions: valves with the valvula surfaces looking as a part of a spheroid, ellipsoid, or having a stepwise, cochliowise form; according to the mode of the valvula closure when the valve is closed: with straight, arched and wavy lines of closure; according to the size: valves with predominant dimentions of one valvula when two others are equal, valves with two equal valvulae and both are larger than the third one, valves with equal valvulae, valves with three different valvulae. Distribution of various types of the valves in accordance with the given classification is determined, the most frequently occurring forms are demonstrated. The valvulae grow in different directions unevenly and asynchronously with the aortal ostium growth, therefore during certain age periods a probability on a nonhermetic valve increases, especially from 1 up to 3 and from 56 up to 70 years of age.
Certain regional peculiarities are noted in the development process of the human principle trunks of the subcutaneous veins during antenatal period. In the fetuses of all ages the wall thickness of the subcutaneous veins is the greatest in the femur, and the middle tunic is better developed in the shin. The vein structure depends on the type of architectonics: at the magistral type (86%) the walls in the large and minor subcutaneous veins are thick with well developed smooth myocytes and connective tissue fibers; at the reticulate type (14%) the walls are thin, their elements are poorly developed. When there is mentioned varicosity of the lower extremity veins in the parents' anamnesis, in fetuses (57%) all the tunics in the venous wall develop more poorly, there is retardation in formation of smooth myocytes and in maturation of collagen fibers. This results in less amount of contractile structures in the middle tunic and optic density of collagen is less manifected.
