[Telangiectasis: arterial or venous?].

In this work we have tried to elucidate whether telangiectases are dilatations of the arteriolar or the venular sections of the circulation system. To this end, we have made use of resources which have allowed us to study in the first place, the wall of these small vascular dilatations and, in the second place, their content. Through our studies we could determine that telangiectases are originated by dilatation of the venular sector of the circulatory system.

[Plaque-formed cutaneous mucinosis with telangiectasis].

We report the case of a 71-year-old man with a combination of circumscribed euthyroid myxodermia and clinically visible telangiectasias. We excluded the possibility of a sympathetic lesion being the cause of the telangiectasias by using a new method, transcutaneous PO2 measurement. Different possible reasons for the simultaneous occurrence of mucinosis and telangiectasias are discussed.

[Unilateral nevoid telangiectasis syndrome].

A case of unilateral nevoid teleangiectatic syndrome (UNTS) occurring during pregnancy is described. Biopsy specimens of the normal skin and of the UNTS were investigated histologically.

[A cryogenic method of treating hemangioma and telangiectasis in children].

Based on an analysis of results of the treatment of 154 children with hemangiomas and telangiectasias of different localizations the authors recommend the cryogenic method with the application of liquid nitrogen. For extended hemangiomas the cryogenic method is combined with other methods. It is a simple and parsimonious method as compared with the "snow" of the carbonic acid and gives better cosmetic results.

[Disseminated essential telangiectasis].

The authors report on their observation of disseminated primary telangiectasia over fifteen years. Many results, all negative, have been necessary in order to eliminate a subjacent auto-immune affection caused by the associated Raynaud's phenomenon. Attempts at treatment using tetracyclin and ketoconazol have been thwarted by failures.

[Post-stripping telangiectasis].

These telangiectasia appear between one and six months after the operation, especially in cases of capillary fragility. The most common localizations are the antero-internal and external sides of the thighs and knees. Unnecessary strippings, of continent saphenous veins, are the most frequent cause of these. Their prevention consists of the least possible traumatising stripping, using a fine stripper, a very rigorous post-operative support, and the wearing of light varicose stockings or tights for between one and three months. The treatment using microsclerosis, often delicate, should not be undertaken before six months.
