By means of well-roven methods of investigation the Pacinian corpuscles in the meso-jejunum of the cat were injected with vital stains (patent blue violet and Japanese ink), and the transport of dyestuffs through the lymphatic system established.
On the basis of well-tried methods of investigation with vital dyes (patent blue violet and Japanese ink) and in combination with the drug (Conjunctisan A), the natural pathways of resorption through the lymphatics of the eye in the mouse, were displayed and this permitted the transport mechanisms to be followed. It was possible gradually to understand the morphology of the lymphatic drainage and, in this way evidence was produced regarding the relationships of the lymphatic system and the regional lymph nodes.
The paper deals with the results of X-ray lymphographic and morphological studies of the peripheral lymphatic system in 82 patients with various stages of chronic lower extremity arterial insufficiency. Destructive and sclerotic changes in lymphatic vessels, inguinal lymph nodes, and impairments in lymph flow whose severity was in proportion to the stage of chronic ischemia were detected. The associated immune, barrier-filtration and transport dysfunctions called for their adequate correction. In patients with Stages II and III ischemia, direct controlled endolymphatic therapy promotes the improvement of tissue lymphatic drainage and hemocirculation in the diseased extremity and recovery of immune homeostasis in the region.

Data of experimental study in 18 mongrel dogs followed by clinical trial in 96 patients are represented, which concerns a method of indirect medicamentous saturation of lymphatic system, consisted in creation of medicamentous subcutaneous infiltration in the thighs followed by pneumocompression. Gentamycin contents in blood lymphatics and organs of experimental animals was studied in various periods of time. The obtained data have determined identity of the effect with the method of introduction of the antibiotics together with the media, which possess hyaluronidaze-like action, and followed by 2 hours duration phlebohypertension (by V.M.Buyanov, 1991). It promotes reduction of time for the procedure more than 3 times and gives possibility to avoid introduction of additional preparations, which are unnecessary load to the procedure. Gentamycin contents in blood serum of patients in various time intervals are demonstrated.

The authors present the report of their experience of 20 injections of the lymphatic system of the stomach during surgery by vital staining dye: 19 times by Pontamine sky blue 6 BX, 1 time by patent blue violet. The results of this study are analysed; the anatomical interest is specified. Nevertheless, this technique presents no surgical interest concerning the stomach, in spite of many authors' opinion.
The breast stroma, in association with normal and neoplastic epithelium, is shown to contain cells of similar ultrastructure to the fine lymphatic vessels and sinusoids described in detail in the literature on other organs. As in other organs, the lumen of these structures is in continuity with the tissue spaces, allowing a free flow of lymph and its content, fluid and cells, from the tissues to the drainage system. The lymphatic system is, thus, open-ended-the endothelial cells of its finest branches having overlapping junctions that open passively on demand. There is, therefore, no need to postulate that cancer cells actively invade the surrounding tissues. In addition, the breast stroma contains endothelial cells in which the luminal side is not apposed to that of the same or another endothelial cell. These, like other endothelial cells, are attached to the connective tissue elements on one side only. It is suggested that they provide a series of potential spaces that can conduct fluid rapidly through the tissues, providing the epithelial cells with a copious supply of nutrients. This irrigation system is termed the lymphatic labyrinth, to distinguish it from the classical sinusoids and collecting vessels of the drainage system.
