[Stability of patient bile and study on its influential factors].

The patient bile and its centrifugate were studied by FTIR spectra, UV-Vis spectra, particle size analysis, and zeta potential determination. The result showed that the patient bile was in a heterogenetic and unstable state, and some of the ultramicrons in the patient bile assembled to form precipitate after centrifugalized at different speeds. According to FTIR and UV-Vis spectra, the authors found that the composition of the precipitates was mainly cholesterol, bilirubin, calcium bilirubinate, protein, phospholipid and so on, which was much close to that of the core of patient gallstone. The change in the properties of cholesterol/phospholipid vesicles, and the production of the undissolvable calcium salt in the patient bile had crucial influence on the stability of the patient bile, which played important roles in the core-formation and initial growth of gallstone that were induced by the matrixes such as proteins, phospholipids etc.

[Study of the relative recovery of sinomenine microdialysis system and it's influential factor].

OBJECTIVE: (1) To study the effect of concentration and flow rate on relative recovery (RR); (2) To study the difference Of relative recovery between probes; (3) To study the relationship between relative recovery and relative loss (RL). METHODS: HPLC. RESULTS: (1) The sinomenine concentration has no obvious effect on RR in the same flow rate. (2) RR is reduced by exponent law as the flow rate increases. (3) There is significent difference between probes. CONCLUSION: The RR isn't affected by sinomenine concentration as the flow rate is same. The flow rate has notable effect on RR as the sinomenine concentration is same. The RR of every probe should be assayed. We can take RL as RR to do in-vivo study.

Influential factors for self-care in ambulatory care heart failure patients: a qualitative perspective.

Chronic heart failure is associated with debilitating symptoms, diminished quality of life and frequent hospitalizations. The literature suggests that effective everyday self-care decision-making can improve heart failure outcomes. This article focuses on the qualitative portion of a study of self-care decision-making in community-dwelling individuals attending a heart failure clinic. Semi-structured interviews conducted with 11 participants identified influences that enhance or impede self-care practices and their behavioural responses to them. Content analysis was used to examine predisposing attributes and enabling circumstances described in Connelly's Model of Self-Care in Chronic Illness. These interactive factors were either facilitators or barriers to self-care. The importance of individualizing patient teaching plans and frequent monitoring of factors likely to facilitate self-care were pivotal nursing implications that emerged from this study.

[Study on the mechanisms and influential factors of intrauterine infection of hepatitis B virus].

Molecular hybridization methods were used to study the intrauterine HBV infection in induced abortions. HBV-DNA was detected not only in fetal liver, but also in spleen, Pancreas, kidney and placenta. The results suggested that HBV might probably pass through placental barrier or infect the placenta leading to the intrauterine HBV infection. Even a possible vertical transmission of HBV via the germ line might exist. However, it might not be the main way by which the maternal blood entered fetal circulation through placental leakage leading to intrauterine infection of HBV. In maternal blood, HBeAg positivity, especially also positive for HBV-DNA was important for intrauterine infection. But maternal anti-HBc antibody may not be able to suppress HBV antigens expression and HBV replication in fetal tissue.

[Etiological and influential factors of involutional osteoporosis in old Chinese].

A comprehensive analysis is reported in 376 healthy middle and old-age persons, including measurements of bone mineral content (BMC) of the mid-radias, pituitary sex hormones (RIA), serum calcium, phosphate, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, urinary calcium, phosphate, hydroxyproline (BCA), daily intake of protein and calcium, physical exercise and activity, body weight, amenorrhea etc. Results showed that the preponderance of bone resorption over bone formation is the essential pathophysiological change of involutional osteoporosis. For females, bone loss is regulated mainly by estrogen in presenile group, co-regulated by estrogen and androgen in senile group. For males, urinary hydroxyproline excretion is also regulated by estrogen A remarkable correlation was observed between BMC and the following factors: serum calcium, urinary calcium, hydroxyproline, body weight, physical exercise, amenorrhea, intake of protein and calcium. Our data indicated that the intake of calcium daily in old chinese should not be lower than 700 mg (male) and 900 mg (female), protein should not be lower than 60-70 g. The age of onset, prevalence rate and BMC average reduction rate of osteoporosis in chinese were also observed in the studies.

[Plague and creative art. On the influential effect on art of the 14th century by black death].

The present paper tries to shed light on the influence of the plague upon art. It considers above all the period after the "Black Death", i.e. the second half of the 14th century. Some changes of art are quantitative: its production is lessened by the effects of the plague--e.g. by the death of an artist--or increased by religious donations. The influence on style is similarly contradictory. Retardation as well as acceleration of the stylistic development can be observed. A third point consists in the changes in iconography of "Post-Plague-Art", showing a different interpretation of existing themes or introducing new ones. The varied conditions of production and reception of the different artistic genres makes the examination of the interaction between plague and art extremely complex.

[Evaluation of diabetes knowledge in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Influential factors and analysis of its relation with blood glucose control].

The level of diabetes education has been evaluated by means of a test questionnaire with 62 items in a group of 57 insulin-dependent Diabetes Mellitus (type I) patients who were cared for at a Hospital Diabetes Unit for a least six months prior the study. We observed that only 60% of our patients had an acceptable diabetes education. Our educational programme seems to be efficient for patients between 20 and 40 years old with a High School or University degree, although we think that the educational method should be changed for older or less educated patients. Moreover, we have analyzed the possible influence of diabetes education on the glycemic control, both globally, and in specific areas. We observed a significantly lower MBG in the patient group with a higher level of diabetes knowledge. The MBG and HbA1c values correlate with training in blood glucose autoanalysis.

[An analysis of factors influential in improving the survival rate of patients with ovarian cancer].

[OBJECTIVES OF STUDY] This presentation deals with an analysis of factors to improve the survival of patients with ovarian cancer. Some 1051 patients with malignant ovarian tumors who were treated in this group, were divided into two groups for their period of treatment. Of these, 460 patients were treated 1974-1979 (retrospective group) and 591 patients treated 1979-1984, (prospective group) because chemo-immunotherapy was determined by a certain protocol in the group. [RESULTS] The survival rate of the two groups were compared, and the 5-year survival rate of prospective group was 20% higher than in the retrospective group. However, there were no significant differences of any clinical stages between retrospective group and prospective group, and the difference in 5-year survival rate was about 20% in any stages. The survival rate was also compared in accordance with histological types. The most dominant progression was seen in serous adenocarcinoma and when the cases were divided into two groups by their clinical stage; one was the early stage (Stage I) cases. The 5-year survival rate of serous ca, mucinous ca and embryonal ca (Higuchi, Kato) made remarkable progress in recent several years, but, mesonephroid ca made little progress. The other was the late stage (stage II, III, IV) cases, patients with mucinous ca when she had had surgery recurrently on relapse, resulting in prolonged survival period. As to the comparison of age groups, younger patients less than 40 years old showed a progression in their survival period, whereas patients in their sixties had no such progression. In order to evaluate the effect of treatment with due comparable counterpart of ovarian carcinoma, cases were quantified with 3 years survival prediction score which was calculated retrospectively by multivariate statistical analysis. The first evaluation was done with an MFC combination chemotherapy and a CAP combination. The results indicated that a CAP combination had improved the survival rate of ovarian cancer, and statistically significant differences were proved. Z value was 2.24 and P value was less than 5%. The second evaluation was done on the significance of second look operation. The prediction score of patients who underwent second look operation and matched pair control of prediction score without reoperation, were compared. The results indicated that second look operation improved the survival rate of ovarian cancer with statistically significant differences. Z value was 2.37 and P value was less than 5%. [CONCLUSION] According to the present study, the treatment of malignant ovarian tumors showed an improved survival rate of about 20%, regardless of the cl
